A Life in the Day of...

7.00am - rose early and picked cherries from the trees in front of the house
8.00am - mixed rye bread and left to rise
9.00 - made cherry jam
10.00 - went for a walk with the glamorous Mrs Neon, found a bed of wild strawberries, and wild plump pink gooseberries - ate until fit to bust whilst skylarks serenaded us from upon high
11.00 - bread into the oven
12.30 - lunch, cold beef, fresh bread, salad from the garden, and cherries
16.00 - airport, flight to Portugal
20.00 - amused myself on bus from airport telling foreigners the wrong stops for their hotels (a joke... I'm actually a part-time tourist guide)
22.00 - sat down for supper


That's me done for a couple of weeks

Tomorrow: hospital appointment, builders and bank... ya gotta pay for it somehow

Let's see.

8:00 Woke up, washed, ate breakfast, got ready for work.
8:30 Took the elevator down and walked across the road to work.
8:33 Signed in at work and checked email, news, facebook.
10:00 Worked.
12:00 Went to a friend's place and watched tennis.
13:00 Lunch. Salad from a bag, olives from can, fried eggs, cheese.
13:30 Went back to work, took pictures of conference, hung around.
17:00 Left work.
17:30 Made a snack, ate it and got ready to go to class.
18:00 Class.
21:00 Got back home and went to work out downstairs.
22:00 Showered.
22:30 Dinner - an apple and a cup of french vanilla coffee.
23:30 Bed.

5:51 AM: Alarm goes off, dogs demand to be fed.
6:00 AM: Still in bed after having pushed the snooze once; dogs most anxious to be fed.
6:09 AM: Finally, I roll out of bed and into workout gear; dogs get excited and forget about food.
6:15 AM: We (dogs and me) leave the house for walk before the sun fully rises.
6:55 AM: Return to the house, feed the dogs, make low-fat latté.
7:05 AM: Read the news and the latest Facebook goings-on.
7:30 AM: Get ready for work.
7:50 AM: Leave for work.
8:00-12:00: Work. Write. Lose myself in xml and HP printer specs. Oy!
12:00-1:00: Lunch! At home. With The Boys.
1:00-5:00: Work. Write. Edit. Laugh. Write and edit some more. Laugh. Edit. Write some more.
5:10 PM: Let The Boys out of their kennel/dog run.
5:15-5:45: Spend some time in the garden watering and pruning.
6:00 PM: Feed The Boys.
6:05-10:00 PM: Eat. Drink. Be merry-ish. Plan for the weekend. Chat with Mr. McK. Watch the History Channel.
10:00-10:30 PM: Indulge in bad literature.
10:30 PM: Sleep.

5.30am -got up, came down stairs jumped online.

6.00am -started baking some chocolate sponge buns for school fair.

7.30am -woke little girl spent next hour chivvying her along to get her to school in time.

9.00 am -left Boo at school, went to tesco.

10.15am -got home, unpacked went to bed for nap (had only 5 hours sleep night before)

12 noon -got up, went online, slowly woke up.

1:00 pm had lunch -cheese sandwiches and an orange.

2:00pm got a parcel filled with promo goodies. spent ages ooh and ahhing over them.

2.30pm got dressed went out to pick up daughter from school.

3.30pm got daughter, did spellings, tidied living room.

4.15pm iced chocolate cakes made in the morning and cooked Boo's tea.

6.30pm took boo up to bed.

6.45pm cooked some pasta for Mr&Mrs EL
7.00pm watched Dog the bounty hunter.
8.00pm played online, emailed Joe W, sent in enquiry about vampire anthology at one of my publishers.
10.00pm went to bed.

9.30 - Builders - my new roof and supporting structure weighs 15 tonnes!!!

11.30 - Met a very nice Doctor at the British Hospital, Lisbon, who completed some legal paperwork for me based upon my UK consultants reports. All rather boring but needed to be completed ahead of my 60th in a couple of weeks time.

1.00 - decided against an extravagant lunch in favour of returning home... it was a sensible idea, I was exhausted by the time I got back. Temperature hovering around 30C.

15.00 Supposed to be writing (between the tennis)... bank can wait till tomorrow.

7 a.m.--up out of bed, splashed face with water and had a coffee

7:30 a.m.--walked for half an hour; did 100 crunches

8:15--breakfasted on fresh peaches and a bagel

8:30--got online; wrote articles; caught up with some e-mails

11:00--took a break; played with new puppy outside

12:00--ate lunch--ham & swiss on sourdough/iced tea

12:30--worked on next article; read some in Herodotus' Histories
1:30--read an article on Phedre starring Helen Mirren (just premiered in London)
