It was dark. It was cold and damp. The chains hurt her terribly.
Leneira couldn't feel the forest, the trees. She couldn't seem to draw any energy from this place. What had he done? Where had he taken her? How long had it been since he took her from the tree? She had been resting and he was so quiet. She hadn't even smelt him coming. She knew now that his magic had shielded him from her.
She was extremely weak. He had only given her enough to barely sustain her each time he checked on her. Her eyes closed. It was no use straining them, she couldn't see in the pitch black of this place.
"Feeling a little weak are we?" The voice was like liquid, the way it rolled out of his mouth and to her ears. Leneira sensed his presence as he crouched in front of her. No need to shield himself now. He had her, she was his captive.
Branar let a finger trail along the nymph's jawline and down her neck. It began to move lower, just brushing the top of her breast. Leneira began to struggle. "What's the matter? You don't like my touch? Poor little beauty..."
He leaned in, his breath hot on her ear. "I will tell you a secret. You are mine and as long as you are here I can do as I like and you will not be able to stop me. Even better, no matter how your magic tries it will never reach the forest, the trees and they will all die." His tongue left a trail of wetness on the edge of her ear.
Silent tears fell as his hand openly groped her breast now. "I have no time to enjoy your body right now. But later little one...later I will and you will cry out and the forest will slowly die." Branar laughed.
"For now. this will do." A hand roughly lifted her chin and he forced her lips apart as he slowly poured a liquid down her throat. Leneira swallowed in an effort not to drown. It was a broth of some kind. "I do need to keep you fed at least until my mission is complete. Then you will die."

The king paced.
"You are sure he can do this?"
"I am told highness that he is a great warrior, a great knight." His advisor tried to sound reassuring.
"I am told he is quite the drunk."
"I am sure that if any can find the artifact it is him. There is great danger from the mage. We don't know what traps or beasts stand between us and the artifact. We need a mighty warrior. He is the best."
"Do you know what this artifact is?"
"No sire, only that it is the only thing that can bring the land back to life. The crops are dying and strange dark creatures have been creeping out of the forest. I am told the trees are twisting and dying. We only know that the mage, Branar is responsible."
The king continued to pace as he waited for the knight.
