I look around today and I see nothing but greedy opportunists looking to gain power though championing noble causes such as race relations, Feminist issues among other things.

It was once said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. All I can say is that road must be very very long. What most that seek power though these causes don't realize is that it wont matter who rules the world. It could be a male or female of any race or creed or belief but it simply wont matter.....why you ask ?. Its simple...... No one person or group will be able to stand up to what this world is coming to.

A war is upon us and we need to stand together to be able to have a chance at survival but us standing together and our survival is looking slimmer by the day. People manipulate facts for their own personal gain and/or the advancement of a specific group. hysteria, fear and lack of reason rule the day do to those very people and their lust and greed for advancement though their manipulation of real issues.

Abraham Lincoln once said "A house divided can not stand". As the days go on we as a whole are becoming more and more divided for whatever reason you may come up with.

I think duplexes are quite sound.

I think everything about this person screams 18 year old gymnast and not 45 year old basement dweller.

Do you remember it like it was only yesterday?

I just graduated this year and I'm soon going to college and that scares me. I only stated my opinion on what I've noticed of the world so far. I have a feeling that my opinion will rub some the wrong way since they have opinions of their own.

Save your money. Learn to weld. Also, in the spirit of the New Year, regardless of what your commencement speaker might have said, it's all downhill from there. It doesn't get any better.

Happy New Year.

The planet has been divided for ages, but it's still standing.

Good luck in school, McKayla, and you are right to be scared. Ever widening divisiveness from political partisanship is a major threat to this country, and you won't find anyplace where it is more entrenched than on today's college campuses. And the harder you fight against it, the deeper the schism tends to become.

I would counsel an ever greater reliance on psychology as opposed to sharpened rational rhetoric. I say that from the perspective of one who is the worst traitor to his own advice.

Just this week I reminded my wife how America was a century ago.

Things are about the same.

As we grow government, in the name of the greater good, social justice, equality, etc., it gets more powerful and intrusive gathering the attention, lust and desires of not just those who crave wielding power, but those who also realize that if they do not fight against altruism unchecked, then will become the ultimate payers of and victims of the dreams of not just equal opportunity, but equal outcome without regard to effort, ability or willful participation in one's own well-being.

Who is going to struggle when one can demand the largess of one's fellow citizens as a right more important than any natural right; self-defense is replaced by self-sacrifice?

Thus we end up with a cultural war which pits those of good (even god-like) intention and ideal cause against those expected to passively participate in the pride of pilferage and redistribution without any recourse or legal protection.

Who profits from such a system? The very bottom.

Who controls who gets their sweat equity and life's capital confiscated? The very top who control the mechanisms of government who purchase, with largess, the votes of the unthinking hands out for handouts.

Everyone else bears the cost of the system, which seems unfair to them, but their laments are driven out by the angry demands of those below them and the indignant platitudes and sophisms of those above them, who rhetorically are willing to bear any cost of taxation or regulation, knowing full well that with these verbal indulgences and their monetary support of government (and note the increasing frequency by which mere public servants seem to suddenly come into great family wealth) then they will be fully protected from the very taxation that they champion.

very well said and thought out

therefore be prepared to be personally attacked by the KNOW NOTHINGS

indeed you are correct

Learning to weld is good.

Become a millwright.

If you stay in school, become a mechanical engineer.

All of the above can always find work. It may not be what you want, but working = not destitute.

So, she stood you up on New Year's Eve, huh?

No, it's not going to survive the way things have been. There is a brittleness and an unseen fragility underneath CNN and Fox's blather about how powerful the powerful are.

The Fed has damaged the Western World's underlying economic structures beyond repair, because the general public believes the things appropriately 'their's, are also theirs for free - even while they permit their governments to pillage on large scales and mock anyone who questions what clothes all the emperors are wearing.

The consequence of this attitude is that major infrastructures are wearing down, technology is not moving ahead and the world is locked into distracting crystal chip data transference rather than energy engineering - which is what the industrial revolution was based on.

The pricing of all assets marked to unearned incomes generated by fake free money between banks and financial institutions tied to selective real estate (EG London prices) is an unrealistic reflection of actual supply and demand and therefore is bound to lead to fatally slow circulation velocity of money - and thus low tax receipts and too high deficits and eventual currency vulnerability.

The 'opportunistic greedy' are chasing ever contracting pots of gold.

The manipulated facts are inevitably destined to self-realise painful catastrophes and dysfunction.

The 'way ahead' is there is no way ahead for most.

We are entering a new Dark Ages in which religions based on commercialised 'scientific facts' will provide for the book burning scenes and the torture justifications for ever-more frenzied Inquisitions visited upon the unco-operative public.

And every tyrant sits on a burning throne every day.

So-called 'event risk' is a real thing, and an impending looming possibility every day that leaders continue on their merry path believing that things will be all right. They will not be all right.

But it's far too late for a self-observed re-adjustment of academic structures, political structures, banking structures. To some extent the 'Doomsday Preppers' are sort of half-right - their canned food will be opened in anger, as it were. Because they will be unable to see the new economies growing underneath their feet, even as the old ones wipe themselves out in virtually a single day and a night...

We ARE Atlantis. The myth. We ARE that myth.

Some remnants though, survived that calamity. And some too, will again.
