Dodging forward, inside of the giant robot's punch, Jack was finally in range to use the most potent weapon in his Ironclad armor's arsenal: the fusion cutter. None of his other weapons had done more than scratch the surface of the mechanical monstrosity.

A high-pitched whine filled the air as the capacitor fired up. In one instant the heat of a star's core was blazing out of the armor covering Jack's forearm. In the next instant there was a tear in the robot. Then it was over, the robot lay in two pieces on the ground.

Jack looked around, surveying the destruction. The fight had lasted nearly an hour. Luckily he'd been able to get the robot to follow him into one of the city's parks. Of course, the rain wasn't making it prettier, but it had meant the park was mostly empty, and Jack was glad for it.

Of course, roaches, rats & reporters thrived in the rain. Sure enough, as soon as the robot stopped twitching, reporters materialized and approached, shouting for Ironclad's attention. Jack held up one hand, telling them to halt. "No questions until after the search & rescue is over." He stooped and grabbed a hold of either half of the robot with either hand. "Excuse me."

With a jump & a burst of rocket boots, Ironclad was flying away. He'd drop the robot at his secret lab; there was some tech in this thing that he'd never seen before, but he'd help with the search & rescue before studying it. Plus, he still had a medieval history quiz to study for.

A hero's work is never done.
