We were discussing that sad incident where that poor girl was murdered by her nutbar father over at a Canadian forum I frequent. We're pretty close but it still got heated. Sigh.
One of them related this story.

One of them related this story.
Was in Sears at Fairview Mall last night doing some Xmas shopping and I poked my head into the hardware department. I was looking at a 14.4v hammer drill that was on sale (but was Mastercraft, the store's own brand -- unknown quality to me) and the guy next to me started asking me about drills. I didn't look at him at first, nor at the other guy who was standing just a little further down the aisle from us. The guy who was asking me about the drill was asking if a 19V hammer drill would be effective for doing work in a basement renovation DIY job. I said "sure" and then the third guy said "but you might want to look at a DeWalt or a Milwaukee product. They're really reliable." Just then I looked up, and the guy I had been talking to looked over to the third guy.
Then we all started grinning at each other.
The guy I'd been speaking to was an older South Asian wearing a Muslim skull cap and typical no-moustache beard, and the OTHER guy was about 30, wearing a yarmulke.
"I think this is a Hallmark moment" said the Jewish guy
"There is never a newspaperman around when you need one" said the Muslim guy.
Power tools. They transcend all national, religious and ethnic boundaries I think.
