[A] Genie's [Night] In
Time setting// Modern
Place Beach
Genre Fantasy -- A free genie who has yet to find a new master..
---
The evening had been taxing, mortals staring at her as she passed on the street. It could of been her multicolored pink hair, or the fact that she was wearing a sarong as a dress; which in Samhain, viewed by the humans, was considered wearing next to nothing. Bare feet made no sound as she passed, hundreds of years worth of practise giving her that edge that professional assassins didn't even have. Tarnished gold chain hung from her fingers, being swung around so that the large emerald pendant caught the light as it peaked and then swung downwards.
Humans, the scourge of the earth; one couldn't help but be bitter after thousands of years of serving the vermin.
Pacing steps finally came to a rest when she had reached a place farthest away from humans as possible; the beach. No one bothered the beach at night, and it was a perfect time to catch some sleep. Dropping to her knees in the wet sand, Mercedes dug a whole in the mushy grains before putting her necklace in and covering it back up; water lapping up to wet her knees as she did so. It was a perfect place to hide, and no one would find her -- Short of using a metal detector. Standing, the genie vanished it a puff of sparks, off to rest for the moment.
Although, there was one thing she hadn't counted on. High tide. The water lapped in and out, pulling sand with it, pushing and pulling the necklace along once it was uncovered. Wet grains of sand clung to it like a lover, the necklace finally being deposited further up on the beach.
