I'm in, but my tastes tend to run a little differently than mosts. I am just now finishing "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" by Susanna Clarke which is wonderful, but very, very long. Next up is a re-reading of "Catch 22" and then on to "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova.

But I also have a soft spot for Pooh and Paddington so if that's where we want to go, I'm cool with that as well.

I don't have the patience to read, too bad cause I used to read all the time. I can't even read a post if its got more than three or four lines.

I'm in! But you all realize this means less Lit time :D

I'm good for a book a week though...

Way back when I first got here, a guy by the user name of Roman Hans had suggested an erotic book club on the GB but it didn't last long...

erotic books are usually not much to talk about though...

I read mostly Si-fi stuff... I like the H. Potter series though

Try "Cloud Atlas" by David Mitchell. Short listed for the Booker last year and one of the most inventive, incredible things I've read in years.

best known for the discworld series.

It started out as a parody of all the fantasy that was around in the big boom of the early '80s, then turned into a satire on just about everything, and even I don't know what it is now.

on the surface just funny fantasy stuff...but there's a lot of clever/subtle takes on human nature, politics & stuff too.

I may be assasinated by Pratchett fans worldwide for saying this.. but I say, its a bit like Douglas Adams, kinda.

I know alright? :) Still if you balance that against the Booker...

Sure... so long as we don't do numerous self-help titles. i get enough self-help reviews @ work.
