Okay, here's how it works. You post a quote, without identifying where it came from. You can identify the category, though. (Which is helpful if it's fairly obscure) Whoever can identify it posts the source, and a quote of their own. Googling is allowed, as is collaborating with someone. If everyone's stumped, you can give the answer to your quote, but you get to post another one.

Okay, so here's the first quote. It's from a book. "if you drink much from a bottle marked 'poison', it is almost certain to disagree with you, sooner or later."

My first thought is that it sounds like an excerpt from Alice in Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass, but it's possible that I only happened to be reading those at the same time as I came across this quotation.

I'm off to Google.

Hot damn! I was right!!!

Uh....now my mind is a blank so it'll have to be something low-brow.

Why is it that everything today has to do with things either going in or coming out of my ass?

To quote a member here that I chat with "I came, I saw, I googled!" ;)

Here's my quote:

By contrast, the sore on the Honorable Joseph Trevelyan’s privy member was quite small. Almost discreet.

I wish I could claim brilliance, but I admit I googled...

Lord John and the Private Matter
by Diana Gabaldon

I've read a couple of Diana's books (from the Outlander Series) and loved them.

If I'm right, do I win a Prize??? :p

darnit! I was pretty sure it was her, but I hadn't found the quote yet! No prizes, but you get to pick the next quote!

My quote Well not mine, but my contribution.

You guys know what I mean... :rose:

Do The Right Thing. It will gratify some people and astound the rest.

It's from a webcomic and this might help you out as well "Everything I needed to know I learned from satan"

Forgot to say that ADR is not allowed to guess on this one :)

If she's shallow enough to sleep with you if you're rich, it's OK to lie and say you are.

Actually not this time! He was mentioned in a book I've read. "Lost Black Sheep: the search for WWII Ace Chris MaGee" by Robert T Reed. I did, however, double check myself by Asking Jeeves about it.

It's been mentioned on this site several times, and it's considered a bdsm classic. It was originally released in 1994, and has been re-released in an updated version once since then..
