The weather was a touch iffy, a bit of a wind and clouds but we decided to head out for a ride. This was my wifes second true ride and her first with her new jacket.
We hopped the bike and off we went. The first stretch of road was at the near blistering pace of 30 MPH until we hit the main North South road. Then I cranked it up to 50 and cruised for a short while. Across a long drawbridge then North again on Rt. 1. The speed here was 50 MPH, which means I was cranking the bike up to 55 MPH and having a blast. I had the visor open on the helmet and my wifes hands on my hips as I rumbled north.
Back down south we headed on A1A at the whopping speed of 30 MPH. The sun came out and we could see the light glinting off the waves to the East of us. It's warm and yet we're cooled by the bit of breeze coming around the windshield.
Back onto Rt. 1 for another short run at speed and we turn off for the short putt home. We park the bike and my wife is smiling like a fool. Tomorrow we'll head out again if the weather holds and do double the distance we did today. I'm working on getting my wife used to riding and I'm working on getting more comfortable riding two up. Our goal is a nice long ride soon, up to visit my parents. (They live a bit over 100 miles north of us.) I'm looking forward to it.
