There are times when I have spoken up because I thought someone's fetish was dangerous,to make a reality, or racist, or insulting to someone besides the poster. I'll even admit to ridicule at times, when someone says something absolutely preposterous, (usually about incest.) And I like to invite people to think about what they like.

But we have to remember: this is the FETISH forum, and was NOT intended as a haven of respectability and normalcy. Do NOT drive away the weirdos, they don't have anywhere else to go.

yes, and it's a shame that laurel sees fit to judge certain fetishes despite the promises she made regarding this forum.

but that's always the risk you get when you step into someone else's sandbox. The internet is still a do-it-yourself proposition, if you don;t like this site and you can't find one you like better you can build your own.

Laurel listens to me once in a blue moon, and I am in no way a moderator on this forum or any other, but I was instrumental in bringing this forum about and I do feel protective of it.

...The only time i've bought a sex toy the clerks got really quiet.. Though in retrospect they probably weren't judging, but just didn't expect me to be buying such a big purple dildo..

Great post. I'm a newbie here, but this is something I have noticed at other forums where fetishes and fantasies ate discussed. There seems to always be a few vocal people who get off on ridiculing and demeaning other people for the things that arouse them. I don't mind people who know each other well razzing and teasing each other, I pick up on that pretty quick when reading posts and can usually tell when that is the case, but the personal attacks because of what someone likes seems totally against the spirit or a site like this. Unfortunately, trolls and assholes are everywhere.

I read some threads where fetishes or activities that turn me off or even disgust me are discussed. I find the variety of tastes out there interesting and do not think less of people for being into something that I can't handle. Sometimes I even think of a witty comment to make, but I don't post them because I don't know the person and they don't know me and I don't want them to be offended if what I intended as good natured teasing is misinterpreted as a personal attack. (lack of body language and tone of voice when online making that a problem if you don't know each other well).
