I have a second life, on livejournal. :D Recently, a new community, Live Long And Marry was created, as a fundraiser. We are donating our goods and services to battle the anti-marriage (It's certainly not a 'pro family' bill, no matter what they say) bill that is going on the CA ballot in October.

Much of the offerings have to do with various fandoms -- fan fic and that. But there are a lot of clever things besides-- a care package, beaded things, crafting things-- i saw a set of beaded stitch counters, for instance.
I am offering a couple of *cough* wooden objects. You can find them here
Here's a great one; Autographed Anita Bryant book
You do not have to be a member of livejournal to make a bid. Go see! Pass the word around!

I'll put some thought into this... I'm sure I have something I can put up for auction.

This is great!!

And lots of interest on your handworked toys, hmm?

And the letter to Anita Bryant ministries would be so damn funny!

Our pastor just performed a same-sex marriage ceremony when she was up in San Francisco this weekend. At least, she was supposed to. I know one of the couple and anyone who thinks that his marrying his long-time partner is somehow "anti-family" is looking for an ax handle across the eyebrows. The man is a seminary graduate, for Heaven's sake! And while his (economic) politics are a bit to the Left of mine (most people's are) his theology is on the mark! So, how does one go about contributing to the auction, presuming I can find something I think would sell?

Bear, I could offer it for you.

What we need, of course, is people who want to BUY-- so, if anyone wants to pass the word to any other internet savvy people, go for it!

I can do this. I live in a wired family. My son's main squeeze works for Blizzard!

Let me go back and forward the website to him.

And the nephew.

And the daughter who does things with satellites none of us get to know about.

You're auctioning Anita Bryant's autograph to help fund the defense of gay marriage?

That's too marvelous for words. Justice can be sweet.

"Offer: I will build a website out of HMTL, CSS, twigs and bits of string, and host it for a year."

This is good stuff, Stella. Thanks for the heads-up.

I need a website, and I want there to be bits of string.

I got sumpthin...I got sumpthin!!!!

Not sure if anyone will want them.....

PM sent.

I haven't been following this (except that when California legalized same-sex marriage our tourism industry took a hit). So, how do they think they will get around the Constitution?

Anyway, best wishes on the auction and squashing the cockroaches.

Happy Canada Day!
