A different type of challenge...

I got a few letters/feedbacks wondering about the background of September's Bloody Moon so how would this be for a Challenge?

We all probably have 1 poem that has a background worthy of note. But writing a poem about a poem could be kinda boring, so how about a very short story? Lit requires 750 words minimum, so how about it? Anyone interested? It might be fun; I've noticed quite a few poets w/ stories, and vice versa.

This isn't set in stone- just a thought on my part. Anyone else have any ideas on the subject? Let me hear them...

My poem Zoey inspired a story, which I wrote last year, and even had Lauren and Angeline and others help edit it, but it never made it to literotica. It has sex, murder and outhouses. lol I still plan to submit it--some year.

Maybe I'll write one this weekend, but uh maybe not--my poems are too damn complicated for 750 words--you'll see it ten years from now and it'll be as long as War and Peace, lol.

I actually thought about writing a story behind the neopetal series, but when I tried, I got too confused. I really don't understand my own poetry.

I've turned a few story ideas into poems and been told they should be turned into stories LOL

I'm up for it, but NOT before the Halloween comp. My entry is chapters and I'm struggling as it is to get it done in time.

well, you guys... I think the stories should be short(ish). We are writing as poets after all. But 750 isn't the limit- it's the minimum. I would put the limit at 1,000 if its up to me and we decide to do this.

As far as the due date we can't wait til after Halloween. The last time we waited a long time to end a Challenge there was a lot of confusion and despair! LOL

Lets let the ideas bloom here for a week- Next Saturday we'll decide IF we do it, HOW we do it, and WHEN we do it... OK? OK!

So keep the ideas coming... it can only make it better.

Thats what it's all about, Kitty! It's supposed to be one of yours. I thought of this because of the comments/feedback I got on mine- it was more thought provoking than I intended it to be! LOL

As far as the reviews- don't worry. Its no biggie except that I can ONLY do them on the weekends. But like WickedlyEvieee said- go ahead and post whenever you like. We all have different ideas of whats good and whats not! So the more opinions the better it is.

I wanted to bump this and add a thought I had.

I think the short story is a highly overlooked, underrated form. It has some attributes of the popular minimalist poetry in that you only have a short space to write so much. No room for wasted words. I've written a few short ones- I think somewhere between 1500 and 2,000 words. Maybe some others here have more experience than I.

We don't have to do this. Its just an idea. I wrote some bones for my story and just the skeleton weighs in at 600 words.

If anyone has thoughts on this lets hear them. I think so far its Anna and Eve and I and maybe Ange, Liar and FKC! Anyone else?

i was merely teasing, i swear i was..without fail there is laughter when i follow a trail eve and tath have taken.
