Alistair leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes he listened to the noise of the people around him. The business man going over numbers, texting his co-workers non-stop, The mom about to cry trying to get her baby to calm down and eat his mash. He loved the noise of the humans. They were so concerned about how important their lives where but they always missed out on those very lives. They focused on making money and running their little races and missed out on all the pleasures that could be found on Earth. He wondered if they all experienced things like him if they would be happier? But if they were like him, he wouldn't get as much fun out of them as he did. He lived for these days, sitting in a cafe, never the same one twice, just watching and listening. Sometimes if someone caught his attention he may play with them. Using his powers to warp the world around them, sometimes for pleasure sometimes for pain. Being a demon he did have a reputation to uphold. But denying some of the more enticing ones a little pleasure with him seemed almost too cruel.
He smiled as he enjoyed the chaos, then he heard it. Her voice was like lightning, every cell in his body jolted awake. Instantly he was alert and searching for her.
He smiled. Thinking to himself, this day just got a LOT more interesting.
He scanned the room, moving from person to person, zooming in on their voice. Each table he searched and didn't find her he grew more and more displeased. Maybe she had already escaped him.
Finally she spoke again, there she was standing at the counter.
" Thank you, I'll wait by the window for it"
Perfect, she was headed this way. She was beautiful. She looked shorter than him, most women were at six foot. Her hair flowed down over he shoulders, it was brown but it almost looked black like his compared to her porcelain skin. Her body was curved, each one call him seductively. He wished that his magic could see through the fabric of clothes, but that might have taken some of his fun away.
He made eye contact with her for a moment and instantly he had a grip on her. He reached into her mind, changing the bright sunny day outside, into a sudden downpour, with it he brought a wet chill in the air. Next he, made all the chairs around the cafe appear full, leaving the seat at his table across from him empty. Human minds where easy to manipulate, it was easier with touch but he could do it from a distance if he could see their eyes. This trick had come in handy many times before.
Looking up as she looked around, she had a uncomfortable look on her face. He waved his hand, drawing her attention to the empty chair. Trying not to watch her too hungrily as she smiled and walked toward him was a bit of a challenge.
"Hi, I'm Alistair, Its a bit of a rough start to the day isn't it."
Offering her his hand, he smiled. This was almost too easy, once she took his hand she would be his. Then the real fun could begin.
