Just realize that there are many people in America that think of you with warm thoughts.

I commend those that make these sacrifices and go where they are told to go. The ones that so many of us forget are still fighting as we continue on our daily lives. The ones that are protecting us or fighting for what the government feel is just. I am sadden to think of wives, husbands, children, family, and friends right now missing you tremendously. They too are so strong by being the backbone of their military person in their lives. They're piece of reality to their old life. Their love. Their hope. Their reason.

So to all of the men and women out there who really do not want to be there THANK YOU! For you keep on going everyday realizing that there is something that has to be done. You know more first hand of what is going on than the civilian and keep those secrets bury deep within you. Such strength, courage, honor, etc. you all display. You fight for so many reasons that only you know to be true. You continue to fight so nobody else will be sent over in your place. You fight so hopefully the rest of us will not have to in years to come.

Please do not post to belittle this sentiment because of a political statement. Most of the people are there to do their job. To try to hold on to the meaning of what America stood for. I am wishing that we will welcome back these people when this is all said and done with open arms. Dreading that we might treat them like we did the Vietnam Vets. So many of them that did not want to be there but did what they had to. So many of them that have their own dreams and desires. So many missing seeing the first steps of their child, a hug from their spouse, mourning the death of a relative or friend, smelling a pine Christmas Tree, Eating Turkey on Thanksgiving or even me. (I hope you all get the picture and take time to reflect on what we civilians have) I've been told that war is hell and I can only imagine but my heart goes out to all those who will suffer from this. I hope nothing will be done in vain when we look back upon this time in history.

Again realize that somebody somewhere is thinking warm fuzzy feelings about you anticipating your return. There are people that are aware of your sacrifices and appreciate what you are sent to do. God Bless! Like I have shared with my friend so many times STAY STRONG, STAY FOCUS, and get the job done already!

Peace,
I truly and simply mean peace,
Tulip

Even non-Americans appreciate the commitment. I might disagree with some American policy decisions, but for the man on the ground . . . I have nothing but respect. You put your money where your mouth is and stand up for freedom and justice. I for one apreciate that from all those who protect our western way of life.

So very true

The people who are in the military or have family and friends in are the ones who want peace more than anyone else. We know what the true cost of war is and the sacrifices that are made.

So many don't realize the sacrafices that those in uniform make. Not only those that get sent out, but those left behind.

Good thoughts to all of them.

 for you tulip

...AND i wish you had a spank butten like i do. .ooOOOO :D :p

Here is where I could

get all wise and witty with I do have a spank button but bringing the post back to topic.

I really want those that are serving to have a chance to see how many people out there are thinking of them. I do not think several of them prefer hearing that they are fighting for nothing. Jeez their lives are at risk.

Thanks to anybody serving the country be it on homeland or overseas or wherever.

Peace,
Tulip

tulip,

Please consider mailing your post in to "Dear Abby" (or whom ever is filling that role now..) or to the "Stars and Stripes" newspaper as a "Letter to the Editor". I'm sure either would print it.

As a military retiree I can tell you from personal experience that there are a lot of our servicemen/women stuck in some gawd-awful places wondering just what they are doing there.

Whether anyone agrees or disagrees with the politics, the individual servicemembers do one hell of a job. They'd appreciate knowing that someone out there cares.

I have always done my best to remember and honor our service personnel, past and present. I've had relatives and ancestors serve in every war this country has ever had, from the Revolution to Bosnia. I have a son who wants to go to the Naval Academy and become a USMC officer.

It is nice to know that people respect the profession of soldier still.

Tulip...

Thank you from my heart!
Too few realize the ground soldier is the one who pushes ever forward and achieves the objective. I've been there. Now I travel by track. Much faster and not to mention easier on the knees!

Thanks again for all soldiers of these United States!

Thnks Tulip

That post makes my deployment much easier.

No darling, I would never attempt phone sex with you and you know why. If you ever wanna chat I am here and bored. Let me know. Love ya Vinny

I wanted to lay you down and have sex with you when we were 16. My loss

Again Thank YOU!

Bump so others can post in thanks. Think about it on Monday it is our observation of Veterans' Day. Isn't it about the time we try to reflect on those we have lost in battle and those that are still fighting?

Peace,
Tulip

My sister may not have to work on Christmas. If she doesn't she will be taking care of her friends children while he gets shipped out. His unit is already gone he had to stay back for certain reasons but will rejoin them. My heart goes out to all military people away from home. But especially to those that are leaving little children behind. Children that get told this is the army, you remember Bosnia, this is how it is and you have to accept it.

So I will not only say a prayer for the serviceman and their families but add a special thought for the little ones that don't understand and those that do.
