From the many supporters of x president Clinton. He needs your love. And your support. He feels your pain and knows in his heart that he's made mistakes. But with the help of his Spiritual Advisor, the Reverend Jessie Jackson, he acknowledges his sins and asks for your forgiveness.

This is going to sound strange coming from me

But get over it, please, just move on.

He's gone, for now.

Fuck that. Gave him my support and he blew it this time. Doesn't mean I don't support the Dems. Doesn't change my priorities. Much to the surprise of many of the right, Clinton is 1) no longer President, and 2) not the God Almighty of Democrats Everywhere. I've agreed with him, I've disagreed with him. I think he was a decent President all around. He deserves much credit on the economy - the same credit you'll heap on Reagan but deny Clinton for no good reason. He deserves a great deal of credit for functioning as well as he did under the pressure of attacks from the right that were of such scale and ferocity unknown to a sitting President. He did a lot for the environment. Lucky for you, your Toad will now do what he can to reverse much of that. And you'll be happy about it, 'cause Rush told you to. Moron.

Wasn't overwhelming excited over Gore, but he was a prince compared to the current Toad-in-office. Would've voted for McCain if he'd run despite disagreements on certain issues because I think McCain is intelligent & honorable enough to put aside his personal views and do what's right for the people. Can't say the same for Bushie, who I doubt knows where China is on a map without help. Unlike many on this board, I'm not glued to the party line. But the Repubs put a moron special interests puppet in the running instead of a man of honor like McCain, and instead of being dismayed by this (like all us Dems with brains are by Clinton right now), you good ol' GOP soldiers two-stepped right behind ol' Bushie. A cokehead puppet of the Christian Coalition over a decorated war veteran with plans to clean up politics. Yep. You should be very proud of your party.

At least we have the good sense to be outraged. Idiots like you are still defending Reagan selling arms to terrorists behind Congress's back and without the consent of the American people - arms that were used to kill innocent civilians. A Republican could do the EXACT SAME THING as Clinton and you all would be defending him like he were Mother Theresa. Reagan left office with MILLIONS OF DOLLARS yet you continue to make hay about the money Clinton left with - a fraction of Reagan's amount. Bush could declare martial law and put us all in camps and you'd be nodding your head along with him, because "it's in our best interest."

At least I have the good sense to feel saddened, disappointed, and betrayed. You, on the other hand, have and will continue to view every GOP fuck-up and impropriety as a "Liberal Media" invention. Because the GOP is Blessed by God, right? Us on the right are Evil. Yep, that's reality. And the rest of us will watch as your party is commandeered right underneath you by the Christian Right because they're wily enough to get you fighting against "the other team" while pulling the switcheroo on you. Read an article recently about a recent poll in which the majority of GOP supporters disagree with much of the current GOP agenda, yet none of them make a peep when legislation they don't support is introduced by their party. Gotta follow that line!

Wanna know something, troll? The reason people like me spent so much time defending Clinton is that Rush fanatics like you spent so much time hate-mongering. Until the Lewinsky scandal, I didn't give a shit. But to impeach a man for what Clinton did - after making excuses left & right for Reagan's actions - was appalling. You've given Clinton his martyrdom. He was stupid enough to blow it. Up until this scandal, Clinton's approval ratings eclipsed Bush's - a sitting President! Nearly every major GOP impeachment figure either stepped down or was voted out in the last election. Now that we're done defending ol' Bill, I don't know who you're going to fight with. It's okay - I'm sure you'll find abother Dem to obsess over any day now. What's a war without an enemy, right?

But no hurry. Go ahead - follow Clinton around for the rest of his life. Point out ever time he forgets to wipe. The rest if us with a brain and political views outside of what Rush told us will move on to important things.

Oh, I forgot. Fuck you.

You Clinton and Jackson deserve one another ... which of the two are you sleeping with!
Or is it both?

Oh, and I forgot, go fuck Bill, he'll pardon you and all your friends.

Thank you so much for that thoughtful, intelligent response. You've illustrated my point brilliantly.

Thank you so much for that thoughtful, intelligent response. You've provided a brilliant example of exactly what I was talking about.

And what is that, that we should ignore the criminality of the actions of these two men! Why, because one is black and to pursue him would be considered racist and the other is no longer in office so we should just allow him to dissappear?

Or do ya just wanna call me and Bushie idiots?

No one is calling your two heros names, they are apparently piling up a pretty serious mound of evidence of corruption and abuse of power and misuse of yours and my damn money.

But nah ... let'em go, forget about them... it's time to move on.

This is my last post on this.

1) I puzzled as to how Jesse Jackson figures into this. I didn't mention him, and I don't understand what he has to do with anything I said. I didn't call anyone a racist. I'm not even sure you're reading the same thread. What's your point, exactly? Oh well. If you want to bring up weird extraneous issues and argue with yourself, go ahead. But none of what you said related to any of what I said.

2) You want to talk about misuse of money? How about the BILLIONS of dollars in US weaponry that Reagan and Bush put into the hands of terrorists? You want to talk about immorality? How about Newt Gingrich cheating on his wife repeatedly, then sending her divorce papers while she was in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy? How about Bob Barr's infidelity? If you think the Democratic party has the market cornered on immorality and foul play, you may want to consider putting down the National Review, turning off Rush & O'Reilly, and actually thinking about history and events with a clear mind. But you won't, because Politics are So Much More Fun this way! Me Good, You Bad. Grr. Me Fight You.

Oh well. I regret posting, like I knew I would. This will teach me to follow my own advice.

sorry

oops...

damnit, screwed this one up...

my 2 cents

Ok, everyone, chill, chill, chill!

Laurel, darlin', you can't honestly expect to post that kind of blasting thread and not have someone bow up and respond in kind, even if he did quote the whole damn thing.

And I know you were initially responding to trolls, but you of all people should know better than that!! That's just the reaction they want, to stir up shit and see what happens.

Then, you post the way you did, and an honest-to-goodness member, who does not hide behind a fake name, or behind a guest name, reacts! At least he's got the gumption to state it under his own name, not throw a grenade and run hide like a cowardly troll!

And DS, honey, I know you are frustrated with this line of thinking--so am I--but speak with the intelligence and cool reasoning and humor I know and love so well...

I repeat, chill everyone! We are going to disagree politically, but can't we reason with each other, however intensely, and not attack each other personally?

C'mon, y'all...

LOL! See though, he didn't respond in kind. I gave my rather heated opinion on things, and he made some weird accusation of me, Clinton, and Jesse Jackson in a threeway. Frankly, I don't care. I know I'm not changing minds here. I didn't even want to post on this subject. But this is like the fifth "isn't anyone outraged about Clinton blah blah" thread, and no one else was stepping forward to represent my views...which are, Yes, I - along with most Dems and Dem-sympathizing media - are very outraged, disappointed, and upset by this recent scandal. Unlike blowjobs and interns, I feel this is a legitimate concer. And I think the fact that I do feel shocked and betrayed is a tribute to my intelligence, because I don't blindly follow every Dem - nor have I.

[I repeat, chill everyone! We are going to disagree politically, but can't we reason with each other, however intensely, and not attack each other personally?

No, we can't - and that's my point. If I attack anything GOP, then I'm an immoral harlot in bed with two married men. I made a post on another thread about why I didn't discuss politics anymore which dealt with exactly this sort of thing. Then what do I do? Make a political post! Duh, ignoring my own advice.

I, Laurel, hereby swear on the life of my kittycat to never again discuss politics at Literotica.

There. Problem solved. Don't cheer too loudly. :)

So sweetie, can we agree that investagation is in order? And not a silly congressional fact finding game, but a real live justice department probe...

Speaking of probe, you gonna be busy later?

Laurel, I understand

Did you ever see the Disney flick, "The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band"? Mama Bower never allowed politics to be discussed in her home amongst family. Always lead to this kind of thing. Good advice, I'm a-thinkin'...

Though, I'm the one that's usually kinda hot-headed about this stuff, but tonight I just want everyone to play nice...funny what Jose Cuervo will do to ya on a Friday nite.

Am I right, DS?
