I have just submitted a story to be posted in the mature category but when it was posted it was in the horror section. I must admit that there is a killing, that might or might-not be self-defense, but overall the story concerns an old woman who has to panhandle for a living. She is pushing sixty and is out there on her own doing the best that she can with what she has to work with. While I will admit that is horrible, I don’t think it rates with the vampires and werewolves that the readers in that category are expecting.

The question is this; Is there some way to have this moved to the mature section, or do you think that because there is a serial killer in the story it deserves to be in the horror section?

This is not a ploy to get more views but if you read the story I think you will find that it isn't a horror story. The story is 'The Difference Between Homeless and Helpless' There is a link in my sig below.
thanks for your time.

A story isn't automatically rejected if someone is killed in it. The only time something is categorized as "snuff" is when a character receives sexual gratification from the killing/violence.

Mikey: you can PM Laurel with your concerns, but chances are, if there's a serial killer integral to the story, then its in the right category.

I wasn't sure but I can understand the site taking that view on the story. I have never posted anything in that section either so I won't gripe about it.
thanks for the input.

There are two people in a car, before the end of the story both of them get their rocks off, they both are the sort of people who might fuck you given the chance. That's mature isn't it?
But in the interest of finding a happy ending one of them really gets fucked.
I guess that you will have to make your own decision about how mature that is.
Read it and then send me a pm, I would like to know what you think. (it's not very long)

OK. The thing with your story is that her age seems fairly irrelevant to the sex... it doesn;t focus on her age or their age difference or how her age affects her body... all the focus on the sex is the danger element. For instance you call the male protagonist 'the killer' all the way through. The effect of this is to create an atmosphere rather more horror-sex than oldie-sex.

The people who read the mature category hoping to hear about dirty old men fucking young girls or dirty old women screwing young men aren;t gonna be thrilled by an erotic story that focuses on the tension of a predator and prey. I think it's in the category it belongs in.

I can live with that , I just had kind of thought that it would be in mature but I can see your point. I was just afraid that it wasn't 'horror' enough to stand up to what the readers in that category would be expecting. But you're right that I do refer to the man as the killer all through the story. I wanted everybody to know who the bad guy was at the outset.
thanks,
