...no, not that kind, you pervs!

I got this feedback today:

Hi,

My name is Alexis and I first want to say, what an awsome story. You write really really well!

I also wanted to invite you to submit for an Erotic Volume that I am putting together and publishing at the end of August.

If you want to take a look, feel free to ask any questions or to send in a submission.

Thanks, and keep writing!

I looked over the website (very briefly) and there's no mention of any pay or anything, but I may email her and see what the deal is. Just thought I'd put it out there for the rest of y'all.

Hey, I got that very same email! Here I was thinking I was special, lol.

I usually can't write anything under 5000 words, so no dice for me.

Isn't "Alexis from AJPress" the scam artist that inspired a thread a week or so ago that claims because you've posted story on the web it isn't neccessary to pay you for print publication rights?

No, that was "Carol" from......shit, I can't remember where, but I remember Carol.

I got one of those too. Personally, I'm not going to trust any "publishing" company who uses Geocities as a business website.

It was the "AJPress" part that seemed familiar.

I'd definitely look for fine print and/or white-on-white text in any proposal or contract youmight get from thiskind of story solicitation.

Yeah, that occurred to me, as well.

What Scam?

Hi
You guys just hinted at an answer I am looking for. I got propositioned this week from a Carol from Group MVP to publish my stories in a digest. She offered to pay me but I have been leery of it and asking lots of questions,.
Does anyone know anything about this? I could use the help. Has anyone else been propositioned. IF so I'd like to talk to you.

Here's a thread about it. I'd be sort of leery too, I think.

You know with that AV, your very mention of a thread draws a moan.....

The first time I read the title, I read a call for submissives.

Back to pouting....Laters...

thanks cloudy

Thank you so much Cloudy.
I just read the WHOLE post. I'm still confused on it. I was going to send all the letters to my lawyer friend and let him help me. I pm'd laurel and wrote that woman asking for specifics. I did all of this before I saw your post for submissions. I was hoping that it was about this thing.
I appreciate it a lot. I have been out of the loop lately, not writing as much as I used to and hadn't read any posts in awhile.

I'm far from an expert, but I found it suspect that certain slang and so many typos, punctuation and grammatical errors occured in what was supposed to be a professional feedback pertaining to writing.

If it is official, congrats to you! You certainly deserve the opportunity! :rose:
