Hello Brilliant Playgrounders! (Notice the shameless flattery there?)

I'm involved in a trivia contest that will be taking place in February. We've been given pictures ahead of time and some of the questions will involve these pictures. We need help trying to identify them. Its perfectly within the rules to accept help from others (i.e. you guys), but we're not allowed to help (or get help from) other teams (i.e. trade info). So if any of you are from other teams in the same contest, well, feel free to relax that rule. Ha!

The images typically come from pop culture (or, frankly, not-so-pop culture), print ads, commercials, book illustrations, billboards, posters, signs, restaurant menus, cereal boxes, your mom's ankle tattoo, the far side of the moon.... In other words, they can really come from anywhere!

If you know anything (ANYTHING!!) about these images --where they're from, who's in them, where they can be found, why they exist, who created them-- or if you don't KNOW but suspect or have a guess that might give us a lead, we'd be very appreciative to know!

Thanks in advance for any info you (or anyone you know) can give.

It's a reverse-image search engine. i.e. you upload the image, it searches for matches of the same image all over the interweb.
It'll probably pull up websites that have the same image on them, so that might give you a starter identifying stuff about them.

Thanks for the tip. We've been there. We had 77 pics to start with and tineye certainly helped whittle it down. But the pics here seem to be invisible to the eye of tin.

I use it all the time for people stealing my images - helps track them down so I can persecute them lol

Well, I guess you'll just have to do it the old fashioned way. Figure it out :)

The first one looks like it could maybe be from the Ancient Ram Inn in Gloucester, England. The skeleton with candles seems to have something to do with the Mexican Dia de Los Muertos.

Thanks for the tips. I haven't heard of the Ancient Ram Inn before, but I'll certainly look into it.

A big thanks to people who have helped out (in the thread and in PMs).
#10 has been found!!
Whoo-hoooo!!

Any more help will certainly be appreciated.

Congrats, folks!
#19 and #45 have both been found.
Whoo-hoo!

Keep looking out for the rest!

#57 has been found.
Congrats to everyone who's been helping.
There are still more to be found.
Keep up the good work, people!

Just a thought, but...
A lot of the pics we've already found have to do with music. Album cover art, photos on the inside sleeve of an LP, etc.

So, the remain pics (or some of them, anyway) may very well follow suit. Does anyone recognize any of these pics in that context?

#5 has been identified!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Keep going folks, you're doing great!
