He learned to obscure his radicalism and the urge to fundamentally transform our culture and society
and use the language of the black screen to give, to our imaginations, an important and
moderate symbol of calm, centrist, tolerant and inclusive,

to promote to us, a blank screen where we can project benignly
upon the party as a centrist organization not
under the thrall of radicals...
