A bit of paradise hidden in California?

Buelton is the gas stop entrance to Solvang. Solvang used to be an interesting place but its turned into outlet shops as the original danish-stye stores closed and the new generation of stores moved in.

There are other things to do around there. Like the travel blog said, Cachuma is nearby but if you're going to Cachuma, why stay in Buelton when the lake has a camping area? The fact that you're staying in a renovated 1960's airstream isn't enough in my mind except as an overnight thing before moving on.

There's also the airport east of Solvang where you can go soaring in a glider. Other small towns in the area also offer interesting shopping side trips and there's the beach not too far away.

Just don't go surfing in November.
