This here is part two of the Need a Bit of help with idea.
Second scenario with same beginning: Jim lets a newlywed couple use his suite for their wedding night. They become friends over next couple of days and on Sunday morning just before he checks out he tells them what happened to his wife.
In this story two weeks before their 20th anniversary celebration he catches her in their bed with a young stud. Its evening. Jim thought something had been going on for a couple of months and lately that sense had been even stronger but not this. The guy’s probably about 22. He watches for a while and there is no mistake she is having sex with him, Jim goes ballistic. He charges in yelling and ranting. Jill screams and when she realizes its him goes into shock, just sitting there, after the man gets out of her. The young man climbs off her rather quickly and begins to gather his clothes just as fast. Jim manages to kick the guy on his naked butt before he runs out and down the stairs. Jim listens while the guy runs down the stairs, there is a pause probably while the guy dresses and then Jim can hear the front door open and close and very faint footfalls while the guy runs down the front walk.
He next turns to his wife who is mostly recovered by now, and says in no uncertain terms that its her turn now. He takes a deep breath, sighs, and tells her she has ten minutes to pack something and to get out. He doesn’t care where she goes just leave. As she packs she tries to explain its not what he thinks, there are mitigating circumstances, but he only replies that he saw them having sex, there can be no mistake and he understands all he needs to. One her way out the front door he says that the next day he will close out their joint credit cards and even their joint savings and checking accounts.
She is crying but it doesn’t effect him. She drives off and he paces wondering why and eventually lays down on their bed after changing the sheets. He knows he won’t be able to sleep but its better then pacing. All he can think of is the years they had together with images of her fucking the young guy and him fucking her mixed in.
Next day he does cancel their joint cards, she has a couple in her own name as he does, but doesn’t get around to closing out the savings and checking accounts. He even asks for how much is owed to the cards and mails out a final payment.
Two days later he clam enough to wonder if he should have listened to her and where she is. Another day and she still hasn’t contacted him in anyway. He did expect something by now to tell him where she is. He calls various friends of her’s and even her work. The person who answers the phone connects him to her boss, which seems unusual. The boss only says that have not heard from her. They talk for a couple seconds and afterwards they hang up Jim gets the impression that the boss is irritated not because the boss doesn’t know anything and Jim is bothering him but because he does and he doesn’t appreciate being placed in the middle of husband and wife scruple. But that is not enough evidence to call the guy back and tell him he’s lying.
A couple days later and still no word, no one knows anything or are not willing to say so, and now Jim is very worried. He even tried driving by her job to see if she is there, no car that looks like her’s. Anything could have happened to her. Car accident, she got mugged while looking for a place to stay. A white slavery gang kidnapped her, a prostitution ring kidnapped her. Of course it could be that she drove to a out of town relative’s or she went to live with her lover, or is just too hurt by his reaction to want to talk to him.
He takes some time off from work and goes looking, starting with her job. He stakes it out but sees no car and using binoculars to watch people drive up hoping to see her get out of someone’s else’s car or from a bus. Nothing. He goes to a coffee place and spends hours waiting nothing. She usually ends up getting coffee there on the way to work two or three days a week. The waitress knows her when Jim shows her picture but says she hasn’t been in for a few days. He tries the afternoon shift since once or twice a week she would stop there on the way home. Turns out she had been stopping by more lately, usually with female coworkers. A group of five others. Jim thinks its like a group of men going to a bar every day to unwind. Each one does not show up everyday. They have been giggling a lot lately and seem to doing some Sex in the City type talk.
He waits and three of the group come in finally. Jim knows two of them, one he’s met a few times the other just a couple. But they are no help and all seem to stare daggers at him, either they know he is somehow responsible for her not being at work, he doesn’t tell them the whole story, or they do know something.
He leaves. He has even rented a billboards in places she would see if she did go to work or a couple of other hangouts. They say he is sorry and wants to talk. He even calls the newspaper to change a 20th anniversary announcement they had placed. Even though it won’t appear till after the weekend at the hotel, it costs a couple hundred dollars to change at this late date. Jill helped to design what it original said and Jim hopes she will read it, for nostalgia reasons or to see what she is missing, if for no other reason. He changes a small section admitting he made a great mistake. He tried to say it in a way that would make anyone else who reads think it was in the past, but she would know.
That is where I am with the story, I don’t know what mitigating circumstances there are, if any. Where she is. Nor how long this affair had been going on. I don’t like the idea of the mitigating circumstances being blackmail. I am leaning toward that she made a promise to her sister. The sister is in the hospital and has a sixty to seventy percent chance of dying. even if she recovers it will be a year before she will be able to do anything strenuous like having sex. The sister lost a bet, she thought it was a sure thing but it wasn’t. Jill promised to fulfill it for her. She may or may not have known it involved sex.
A couple days after Jim checks out the newlywed couple after a round of sex, are cuddling. She turns to her husband and says, “He still loves her.”
“I know, I can recognized that too.”
“We need to do something to help.”
“We?”
“Yes we, from the way Jim described his wife’s reaction to what should have been their upcoming celebration she loves him too. We can find her and by meditators between the two of them.”
“Something could have happened to her, she could be, as Jim has thought, be in a hospital or the morgue. Or she is too hurt to want to speak to him.”
“I am a romantic, I don’t believe she is dead and if she is that hurt that is why we need to be meditators.”
The husband gets up and starts to walk to a desk. She asks where he is going and he says to call uncle so and so. He is great at finding lost people and he still owes them a wedding present.
She says, “Thank you and I love you.”
Anyway I don’t thinks she is at her lover’s and there may have been more then one. All young and all part of a team or some such.
Could be she even had two or three young men with her that night Jim saw them. That is a recent thought. Any suggestions on which way to go or if by chance if any other writer has any ideas they want to add.
there is a third scenaro that I will probably post some day but I don’t need a much help with it.
