They had been fighting side by side now for what seemed months, and had only been married for less than a year and already he had become King after his father’s death and his mother’s murder. Now it was up to them to keep their Kingdom safe from a horrid force that was trying to claim their lands as their own.

Morrigan was only 18, yet she was well educated for her age in warfare and court politics and never had suspected that she would be the one that Malcolm would have chosen to be his only son’s bride. After all she thought that she never looked the part of high royalty, but after all her father was the late King’s most loyal adviser and his favorite. And once she and Cole were married, it was as though she had known her husband for years, their tastes and ideas so alike, they getting along so perfectly. And the night that both his parents had been murdered, Morrigan learned firsthand just what kind of a man she had married, and even in the middle of such horror she learned that she would very much be loving her husband for the rest of her life and would never do anything to put his line at risk.

And so while in their tent the night before one of the great battles, Morrigan had a battle of her own to fight, she knowing already from her symptoms that she was pregnant and didn’t know what to do. She didn’t want to leave her husband to fight without her, didn’t at all want to not be at his side while they were in the middle of one of the worst wars ever seen by their people, but at the same time she understood the danger she would be putting his possible heir in. And so she rolled over in the bedroll that she shared, and whispered to him, “Will you make love to me tonight Cole?”
