Timothy Ezra Stewart
Tim woke slowly, his head pounding, his tongue dry, dehydrated. As he pushed himself to sit on the side of the bed, he realized he was still dressed. Water.. he needed water. He grabbed a bottle on the nightstand, cracked it open and drank.
Sheesh... it had been a long time since he had drank that much, and he felt like crap now, but... he had closed the deal. All he had to do was sign some papers today, and then home he went, richer than when he had arrived. A bargain!
He rose slowly and padded towards the bathroom, shedding clothes along the way. A half hour later, he was clean and dressing, when he heard a knock on the door. He opened it and found his partner, grinning.
"Good to see you up," Bob remarked, "Today is your big day. Sign the papers and pick up your bride."
Tim let him in, his thinking still slow, "Uhhh, bride, what are you talking about?"
Bob laughed at him, "Don't you remember? Part of the deal was you get his eldest daughter."
Tim laughed, "yeah, right!"
Bob spoke more evenly, "Tim, I'm not kidding. Taking his daughter was the only way that old fart would agree to the deal. She will be at the signing. Like it or not, you are engaged, or own her, or whatever they do over here."
Tim groaned, "Fuuuuuck... Why didn't you stop me?"
Bob reminded him that he had tried and that they had to leave. "Alright, alright, let's go. We'll sign the papers, and then go from there... Ummm, have either of us seen her?"
