My new story, The Difference Between Homeless and Helpless, has only gotten 500 views on its first day. It is a better story than that. It has 13 votes and a score of 4.77.

The Difference Between Homeless and Helpless, has gotten two comments thus far both gave it a 100 and said it was, well read them for yourselves. Here they are.

08/02/07 By: Anonymous in USA NOW THAT WAS A EERIE BUT GOOD..VERY GOOD TALE..I LIKED IT..I THINK IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD FOR HER TO HAVE COLLECTED THAT REWARD MONEY BUT U DID RIGHT SHE HAD REWARD ENOUGH FOR HER TO BE HAPPY FROM JUST TAKING HIS MONEY..I LOOK FORWARD TO READING MORE OF YOUR SUBMISSIONS..THANKS

The reason that I am telling you guys all this is because I don’t think that the story is getting a fair shake in the category that it is in. Having a serial killer does make the story earn its category; I can’t argue the site’s decision. But I would like to tell everyone here that I think the story is worth going into a section that you might not usually go. I had submitted it as Mature because of the age of the old woman, I think it would have fit in that category better than the horror slot it is in . Read it and let me know what you think.

Actually, I meant to mention the category choice when I responded to your other thread yesterday; I guess I don't know what "erotic horror" is supposed to mean, because I think of that category as having elements of supernatural evil.

Personally, I think your story belongs in the nonconsent/reluctance category. The main character might be mature, but I doubt it's the kind of story people going to the mature category are looking for.

Categories aside, it's quite a good story--there's an engaging plot and interesting characters that make the story about more than the violence and squirmy sex.

Erotic Horror, sadly, is a backwater. I have a story there that's been up since December. It has just over 5000 reads, and 30 votes.
There's some very good stories in that category, but they only get noticed if published during the Halloween Contests it appears.

It wasn't a bad story but you have to watch your dialogue. It was really stilted in places. Like this:

"I don't do that shit, if you don't like my pussy enough to let that satisfy you than I guess you will just have to beat your own meat." She had spoken like she always talked but it sounded like backtalk to the killer and he was not used to that from women.

The "I don't do that shit"was good... But the rest...well who would say something like that.

I picked up a lot of reads and votes on Home by the Sea when my last EH Harvest of Blood came out during the contest. EH is still a backwater, but you can point a few more people at it by posting one during the Halloween contest.

I thought an old woman, but now you have me second guessing myself. I do think that dialogue is very hard to get right. I did make a reference in the story about how she mostly had to suck for crack because nobody wanted to fuck her anymore. Maybe she was sensetive about her pussy not being able to do the job.

I am being a wiseass now. I will stop and smilingly say you have got me thinking and maybe the next one will be better. It is going to be in first person, that is a strange way to write. Have you ever tried it?

I am trying to hit every one of them

I hope to put a story into every category before I finished. I sure don't want to get tied to one thing. But If I can keep one in the new list for a bit maybe it will get people interested enough to read my other stuff.
Thats the plan, too soon to say if it will work or not.
