I hate it when the president's on TV. It's a throwback. There is no way that could not be boring. Plus, he's not the most interesting man- he's kinda monotone and whatnot. I couldn't watch Clinton or Bush either.

Therefore, those polled were very likely to approve of anything the President said and after having read the excerpts and commentaries on the speech, it had relatively nothing new in it, hell the Republicans are running a seriously funny ad showing him saying the same things in the last two speeches, so what you are seeing is not approval of the plans, but pure approval of what the man stands for, which is certainly not Main Street America.
