At the risk of raising ire among my fellow travelers, I have to say that I believe 9/11 was not orchestrated by one lone gunman and his henchmen. Given the overwhelming difficulty of setting up a situation in which two planes could approach the twin towers unmolested by our military, I think that there was some level of culpability on the part of the U.S. government. Whether it was merely a case of looking the wrong way at the right time or what, I do not know. But, I firmly believe that the disaster could have been averted.

I am a mostly law abiding man who helps where he can and generally tries to be a good American. The one big fear that I have is that I might become a 'good German' if I just accept and go along.

People that want to be part of the crowd and let their leaders make their decisions are the real threat, not people like me or bman462.

I did work for the government--and on this issue for many a year. Without the efforts the government sweated over while citizens slept comfortably and complained about paying taxes, it would have occurred much sooner.

You are the kind of poison that has been infecting this country for years now.

I trust no one in politics. I have served under two presidents. One went senile and the other was useless and almost got me killed in the Middle East. Now I watch as his son destroys what was left of our country's pride and live in fear for the young men and women that serve their country.

But to believe that this incompetent in office was behind 9/11? He can't blow his nose right, so how could he have orchestrated this tragedy? He couldn't. Thus, your belief is flawed and all you are doing is fanning flames that should be allowed to die so the country can move on with it's healing process.
