Discussion about this film came up on another forum that I hangout that talks about BDSM. What do you think about this film? Do you think it helped or hurt the BDSM community?

I don't really care whether it helped or hurt, though I must admit I don't see where it could harm it unless we are proposing we only ever make films which include BDSM on any level, to have lovely perfect endings where love conquers all and the characters never fuck up. Personally, I loved it when it was released and that was before I was remotely into BDSM, and I still enjoy it today.
