I just heard OMD's "If You Leave" on the radio and it totally sent me back to college parties and the whole Molly Ringwald era. Good times.

What sends you into the past?

Saw legwarmers on sale at Wal-mart yesterday.

My MIL got me a karaoke machine for christmas and one of the most prominent songs is Tiffany's "I think we're alone now" that took me back to 2nd grade and following this girl with a radio around the playground while that very song was playing.

Watching classic 80s films, like The Goonies, Top Gun and The Lost Boys.
Traveling to West Virginia and seeing all the mullet hair-styles.
Listening to any 80s music in general.
Finding old school photos, or any schoolwork I did as a kid.
Watching old episodes of Casualty.
Seeing a kid on a BMX.
Dressing up for Halloween parties.

Whenever I see the Care Bears and He-Man that are coming back on store shelves. :)

Say it ain't so!!! That is one fashion trend I do not want to repeat.

What takes me back- big hair.

Stirrup pants and big earrings.

Psst, I had lavender parachute pants in the fifth grade. I still wear my t-shirts cut up and off the shoulder like Flashdance. What a feelin'

For some reason I LOVED stirrup pants. Looking back, they weren't all that comfortable.

Anyone else remember the store Units?

I was all about leggings and big tops. I don't remeber Units, but Esprit and Limited were the big deal.

Did anybody have those Sam and Libby's shoes with the bow on the toe?

:D I always cut the ribbed *snort* collar & cuffs off my sweatshirts.

Units had leggings and tops and those little scruncy things to go around your waist, but I can't remember what the hell those were called. I hated that store. Mostly because the stuff didn't look good on me.

OMG! Stirrups. :D And Reebok high-tops in odd colors ... with the requisite scrunchy socks and HUGE sweater and, of course, big funky earrings. :D Let's do the time warp again!

Yeah baby! she's a maniac. :D

I loved wearing Reebok high tops and jean skirts.

Where's Carson? He probably remembers my worst junior high fashion faux pas.

My reeboks, if I remember right, were pink. I liked Keds better, though. I had this plaid pair that I was so proud of.

I think I had six different pair of Reebok high-tops: red, maroon, electric blue, white, black, purple. :D

And undies with the days of the week on 'em ... only I never wore the right day.

Miller beer in quarts ... and a roach clip on the end of my rat tail. :cathappy:

I had bangs and probably a ponytail on the side of my head. At some point, I put Sun-In in my hair and it turned a nice twinkie yellow color.

I was totally (like, oh, my God!) into Duran Duran and had tons of black elf boots and white jazz shoes. My sophomore year in college, I decided that I wanted to make the clothes that they had one in a famous poster (just about everyone was wearing all white) and we used to get linens once a week from the floor monitor.

Thankfully, she was a drunk and often left the linen room door unlocked so I 'appropriated' some sheets and made four pairs of cargo pants and stylish jackets for us, using newspaper to make my patterns. We were smoking!

I still listen to 80s music at least once a day. I had an 80s listening party with my 18-year old son last weekend and he now loves Laurie Anderson (Oh, Superman!) and my all-time favorite, Japan.

The 80s were the absolute best times of my life ...

Sweet dreams are made of this...

Ballet flats, black leggings, and a big white shirt cinched at the waist with a wide belt.
