The insane spending spree that Congress has gone on since the start of the pandemic is one of the central causes of today’s brutal inflation.

While the Biden administration blames the war in Ukraine and “greedy” energy companies, the timing of the inflation spike is more closely linked to unnecessary stimulus bills passed after the 2020 election.

Although legislators have many options for addressing the inflation crisis, they consistently choose to pour gasoline on the inflationary fire, often for nakedly political purposes.

Here's a small sampling of what Congress has decided to throw inflationary cash at.

Yeah, no. Greedy energy companies, really greedy companies PERIOD are the major driving factor here. That and we were under lockdown for over a year which caused all sorts of other problems.

I did a very quick number crunch on there, that's not even 2 billion dollars. If it gets things we want and need passed good. Part of what has paralyzed our country was doing our damnest to eliminate earmarks.

Sounds like you'll be lobbying your reps to vote against it, then

Oh it is definitely a RW rag, but I feel like this is one of those text book cases of people not getting how math works because the human brain just doesn't work past certain limits.

I high balled it to 2 billion and I mean I HELLA high balled, rounded up even when I should have rounded down.

1trillion = 1000 billion.
We spend 3.5 billion in any given year BEFORE running a deficiet. If what it takes to get McConnel to play nice is his daughters each get a fucking pony I better not see anything but pictures of his well grand great grand? Look PONIES for everyone!
