It may take hallucinogens to get us through the Trump years

Watching that man bragging his hollow brags with that fake half-smile on his face and that yellow muskrat on his head, you want to pick up the flat screen and throw it across the room. But what’s the use? Why bother? What fucking planet am I on?

I’m putting the frying pan away. No more sautéing for me. I’m going straight back to the blender and the grape juice and Les Psilocybe. They got me through Nixon. Maybe they’ll get me through this.

I thought that we were on a "trip", you mean Trump is , gasp, Real!

Am guessing that even Hunter S. Thompson would find this election season hard to tolerate.

Trump’s gang may be incompetent at a spectacular level — but they’re also cruel and nasty to the bone

Our “I alone can fix it” president has gotten us in another fix, all right.

Of course, whenever he screws up big time, Mister I Alone starts blaming everyone but Mister I Alone.

He had admitted as much the other day when he was in Singapore for his summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and bragged about the great deal he imagined he had made: “I may stand before you in six months and say, ‘Hey, I was wrong.’ I don’t know that I’ll ever admit that, but I’ll find some kind of an excuse.” He was, in his gruesome way, joking, but many a truth in jest, etc.

The confusion and chaos that have characterized this administration reign. You can’t let your guard down—Nancy Cook at Politico reports that Stephen Miller “and a team of officials from the departments of Justice, Labor, Homeland Security and the Office of Management and Budget have been quietly meeting for months to find ways to use executive authority and under-the-radar rule changes to strengthen hardline U.S. immigration policies.”
In other words, never forget that this gang may be incompetent at a spectacular level but they’re mean to the bone.

"I just don't care, do You?"

Trump tariffs force companies to rework supply chains

As U.S. President Donald Trump pushes to upend the status quo of global trade, companies that initially took a wait-and-see stance are starting to take action to shield their businesses from shifting trade policy.

On Monday, U.S. motorcycle maker Harley warned of higher costs because of retaliatory EU tariffs, and said it would shift production of bikes destined for the European Union out of the United States to factories it has built in India, Brazil and Thailand.

The decision of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based company, which Trump vowed to make great again when he took office, came less than a week after Mercedes-Benz maker Daimler AG cut its 2018 profit forecast, citing growing trade tensions. Its German rival BMW said it was considering “possible strategic options” in view of the rising trade tensions between China and the United States.

Harley is the latest example of how companies are finding themselves in the crosshairs following “tit-for-tat” retaliations over Trump’s bid to rewrite global trade rules as part of his “America First” agenda.

Why don't we have an Oil Tariff, say $1000 per ton, on imported oil? That would raise a few bucks and protect our domestic suppliers?:cattail:

Donald Trump Will Solve Immigration Crisis By Getting Rid Of Pesky Constitution

As Trump tweeted:
We cannot allow all of these people to invade our Country. When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, bring them back from where they came. Our system is a mockery to good immigration policy and Law and Order. Most children come without parents..

Hiring manythousands of judges, and going through a long and complicated legal process, is not the way to go - will always be disfunctional. People must simply be stopped at the Border and told they cannot come into the U.S. illegally. Children brought back to their country......

....If this is done, illegal immigration will be stopped in it’s tracks - and at very little, by comparison, cost. This is the only real answer - and we must continue to BUILD THE WALL!

In the interests of security, we could build a wall around Trump's golf courses to keep out the "unwanted" and keep the white people in? It would be cheaper. :)

Shep Smith gives Fox News viewers a chilling dose of truth: America is caging children in the desert

On Monday, Fox News host Shepard Smith returned from vacation to traumatizing stories about kids ripped from their parents at the border.

Like much of the rest of the world, Smith apparently spent last week horrified by images from the US southwest, where the administration’s zero tolerance policy towards migrants has resulted in an estimated 2,300 children being separated from their families and placed in federal custody.

Last week, in response to nearly uniform condemnation from around the world, President Donald Trump signed an executive order reportedly designed to end the forcible separation of kids and their parents, including very young children.

Smith did not mince words voicing his outrage.

“A reminder just as a matter of fact here the United State government, at this moment, is holding young children as young as infants, we’re told, alone, separate from their parents, in conditions about which we have no information,” he went on. “In places in which we have no access, and from which no pictures have been shown to the public.

So Trump kidnapped the infants to extort Congress to grift his wall?
SO kidnapping is a Felony! Extortion is a Felony! We'll have to start refering to Don as "Felonious Trump", you know the kind that plays skin flutes in Leavenworth!

If the law won't, or can't change things, maybe public shaming will work?

‘You’re a villain’: Watch protesters corner Stephen Miller at his homee

White House senior advisor and known white supremacist, Stephen Miller, has been blamed as the cruel mind behind President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance immigration policy that separated nearly 2,000 children from their parents at the U.S. border.

Protesters gathered outside of Miller’s apartment in Washington, D.C., on June 25th. Before the rallying began activist passed out “wanted” flyers.

The flyers stated that he was guilty of kidnapping 2,500 children, crimes against humanity, and banning Muslims.

Nearly a dozen protesters shouted outside of his home. “Say it loud, say it clear: immigrants are welcome here,” the protesters can be heard saying in the video.
They then marched through the City Center courtyard in Washington, D.C. “Stephen Miller, you’re a villain, locking up immigrant children,” protesters shouted.

Make America Great Again, Dump Trump!

Kiss November elections goodbye: Wall Street Journal rips into Trump for driving Harley jobs to Europe

The conservative Wall Street Journal took a battering ram to President Donald Trump’s tariffs — and threat of more — saying he is killing the jobs of the very workers he had vowed to protect and warning Republicans are going to take a beating at the polls in November because of him.

In a terse editorial by the editors, the staid business-oriented paper held up the announcement that stalwart American manufacturer Harley-Davidson would be moving jobs to Europe — saying American workers are the “biggest losers” under Trump’s policies.

“Donald Trump’s trade war has been an abstraction for most Americans so far, but the retaliation has now begun in earnest and the casualties are starting to mount,” the editorial begins. “President’s beloved stock market took another header Monday on news of more restrictions on investment into the U.S., and the Dow Jones Industrial Average is now down for 2018. But the biggest losers Monday were the American workers who make Harley-Davidson motorcycles whose jobs will soon be headed overseas thanks to the Trump tariffs.”

Piling on, the Journal added that more jobs are on the line because of the president’s economic polices and those jobs are in states that Trump — and the GOP — needs.

“The damage is likely to have political consequences, as the retaliatory tariffs target industries in swing states. Wisconsin produces more than 90% of America’s ginseng, and 95% of that comes from Marathon County. The county went for Mr. Trump in 2016, but it’s now wrestling with the consequences of China’s new 15% retaliatory tariff. Mr. Trump is also going to have some explaining to do to Wisconsin cranberry farmers, Florida orange-juice producers, and Iowa soy and corn growers. ”

Then came the waning: “Good luck to Republicans running on the Trump tariffs in November.”

US first-quarter GDP growth lowered; weekly jobless claims rise

The Trump Slump begins!

The U.S. economy slowed more than previously estimated in the first quarter amid the weakest consumer spending in nearly five years, but growth appears to have since regained momentum on the back of a robust labor market and tax cuts.

Gross domestic product increased at a 2.0 percent annual rate in the January-March period, the Commerce Department said on Thursday in its third estimate of first-quarter GDP, instead of the 2.2 percent pace it reported last month.

The economy grew at a 2.9 percent rate in the fourth quarter. The downgrade to first-quarter growth reflected weaker consumer spending and a smaller inventory accumulation than the government had estimated last month.

Trump deal for Wisconsin Foxconn factory cost taxpayers $4 billion — and it is already downsizing

There are also concerns that the projected job growth might be overblown.

A report in the Wisconsin Journal-Sentinel suggests that the global giant is already downsizing its plans for the Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin location. The report notes that the company is shifting gears on the type of glass screens it will produce—which means a far smaller factory and possibly far fewer jobs than initially promised.

‘I thought you were my friend’: Immigration meltdown exposes GOP hostilities

Moderate House Republicans suspected they were being played.

For weeks they’d been negotiating with Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows in a quest to clinch an immigration deal that could pass the House. But whenever the two sides got close, they said, immigration hard-liners would ask for more. Then, on the morning of a scheduled June 21 vote, moderates got their hands on an explosive missive from the Freedom Caucus’ top staffer: an email warning group members that voters would punish them for backing any bill with a whiff of “amnesty.”

“This is bull—-,” Rep. Tom MacArthur scolded Meadows at a meeting in Speaker Paul Ryan’s office that day. The New Jersey Republican, who had worked closely with Meadows in the past and wanted a deal, demanded to know why Meadows appeared to be backing away from a bill he helped craft.

Rep. Jeff Denham (R-Calif.), a leader of the pro-immigration reform centrists, read the Freedom Caucus email aloud, as Meadows insisted he had no knowledge of it. Rep. John Katko (R-N.Y.) said he’d been warned not to trust the Freedom Caucus, seething that he’d never make that mistake again.

Rethug's can't agree how deeply to screw the Immigrants?

Michael Cohen now popular in New York as friends and strangers encourage him to become ‘hero’ that saves America from Trump: report

Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, has had a wild ride of late.

Last September, Cohen said he would take a bullet for the president.

But things have changed since April, when his office and residence were raided by federal authorities.

In New York, Cohen has gone from being taunted by strangers in restaurants and on the street to having people encourage him to flip on the president and become a hero, Vanity Fair reports.

Cohen still hasn’t met with federal prosecutors, three sources tell Vanity Fair, and none of them knew if he would flip.

“After a year of scrutiny and mounting legal bills, he is not the same man who once offered to be a human shield for the Trumps,” the report reads.

As more people realize this, Cohen is suddenly popular. One woman recently chased him down the street, shouting that he could be a “hero” if he flips.

Soon a moment of truth will come to the Fixer. GO To Jail, or tell the nice FBI man where he buried the books!
