So my story just published, but didn't get labeled under the 750 Word Project contest.

Should I resubmit it?

Or maybe not. Don't know how to delete it. Oh well lol.

It'll get sorted out.

Mine is slated for publication tomorrow. It's in Group Sex.

I enjoy writing these stories once in a while. There's no angst or commitment involved. An idea pops into the head and the story is done before you know it.

I also think it's an excellent exercise in making you focus really carefully on maximizing the value of every word.

Yeah. A literary "wham-bam thank you ma'am." :D (Pun not intended, Djmac!)

I have two 750 stories in the can. Well, two-and-a-half, one being the same story with and without a sex ending. I'm leaning towards the sexy version. They'll both go in "Mature" once I've re-read them for the 100th time.

Also, you can say, "Look, EB, I told you I'd get a story submitted this year." :)

That's TWO for me so far this year, dude. I'm on a roll.

I'd like to write at a faster pace, but if I can get a story published per month I'm content. I'm not making predictions this year, though, since those tend to go to pot.

Just submitted my two. I'd forgotten all about this; I wrote them some time ago.

Well, 750 words doesn't take long to get through. :D

I'll toss my story in today so I don't forget it. I was thinking it would go in EC, but my muse suggested the very last line - it's now an I/T story.

There's a 750 word story from JBEwards that I noticed didn't get the normal billing.

https://www.literotica.com/beta/c/taboo-sex-stories/new-taboo-sex-stories/1-page

I wonder if it was an error or people are forgetting the proper tag.

How does one know whether it gets the right billing? Where is the right billing? My understanding is the list of the stories won't go up until later. Is that not correct?

I've been writing at this Site for over 5 years and I still find its processes so opaque and confusing it's very frustrating. So many of these things seem like easy fixes and the Site refuses to respond.

Seek, and you shall find.

Hidden in plain sight on the Literotica Front Page, there's a link to this page:

https://www.literotica.com/s/the-750-word-project-2022

It's pretty simple, Simon (my god, I finally wrote that :)).

I found that already.

There are no stories listed on that page.

It says the list of participating stories will be posted on March 1.

So how would one know at this point if one's story was on the list?

Seems pretty clear to me - you have to wait until 1st March, then you find out. Or you could fret for a month, and wonder why there isn't a pre-list for the final list ;).

I added a line at the start of my four about them being for the project, and the editor turned it into a link to the contest page. (One example: http://literotica.com/s/sisters-shower). So that's one way to be sure.

I foolishly forgot to do that. There's nothing in the story that currently indicates it's part of the event other than a story tag that Laurel added. I wish I had added a note at the top. I might message Laurel.

Mine is doing OK, considering scores for these stories tend to be lower, and my story features a cheating wife (it's in Group Sex, not Loving Wives -- the husband is absent). One doesn't publish for this event for the scores.

Event stories (including the 750 story and Orchard) are supposed to go to the top of the New List and top of the Hubs.

Other such stories also went to the top, on the same day.

Oof. My 750-Word story went onto the site overnight. Evidently readers REALLY don't care for the challenge at all. Even though I made sure to put an author's note at the beginning to let readers know what the idea was with the challenge, they've still savaged it with down-votes. I doubt I'll want to try this again. :(

Yeah. Readers hated my first one (pissing off all the incels was also a good move), so last year I thought putting '750 Word Project in the title would clue people in, and I could use the scene as a teaser, 'if you liked this, try reading these other stories of mine.

I thought wrong. Lowest rating of all my 30 stories on Lit, and annoyingly its first in alphabetical order so at the top of my list (and my only prizewinning one is last so doesn't fit on many screens... bad title planning there!)

I like the idea of the challenge, but having to click onto another page to vote really does get rid of most one-bombers.
Maybe I'll try writing four with a bit of preamble and commentary, to make it into a two-page more satisfying piece.

Some readers don't. My story was published yesterday, and it's one of only two of my stories with a score under 4. But I enjoyed writing it and I've had some very nice comments, and that more than offsets any displeasure I feel about the score. I've published 4 stories in this event over the last 3 years, and none of them have received good scores. I just shrug about that and enjoy the exercise for what it is.

The event organizer should include a specific tag for everyone to include. So far, I've found "750 Word Project", "750 Words", "750", and there are probably others without a tag.

Mine published today with "750 Words" as the tag.
