Donald Trump dictated the response to the NYT story about the Veselnitskaya meeting.

Donald Trump Jr. did not write it. His dad did. Donald Trump Jr. lied about it.

Jay Sekulow lied about it.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders lied about it.

This reminds me of the question of what Reagan knew about Iran/Contra. Someone made the point that good news travels up. Subordinates always want to bring the boss good news that reflects well on them.

A ne'er-do-well son like Trump Jr would have broken his neck to get information to his father that they could get damaging info on Clinton from Russia.

‘Change is coming’: Fox & Friends host has his lunch eaten by Dem candidate — and it’s beautiful

Fox News host Pege Hegseth on Sunday came out on the losing side of an interview with Virginia candidate for U.S. House Dan Helmer (D).

In a Sunday interview on Fox & Friends, Hegseth confronted the Democrat about one of his campaign advertisements, which compares President Donald Trump to Osama bin Laden.

Hegseth began the interview by thanking Helmer, who served in Afghanistan, for his military service. But the pleasantries ended there.

“Obviously an ad like that gets noticed,” Hegseth opined. “We’re talking about it on the highest rated cable morning show in America. The question I have to you is, do you believe that Donald Trump is the moral equivalent of Osama bin Laden?”

Helmer, however, seemed to have the perfect antidote to the Fox News style of interview.

“I actually believe on 9/11 — and my heart goes out to all that we lost that day and their families,” the candidate said. “I was a cadet at West Point and I knew I was going to be spending the next two years preparing to lead soldiers in combat. And I served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. And I did it for a simple reason, I swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against enemies foreign and domestic.”

Hegseth interrupted: “Are you saying [Trump] is an enemy?”

But Helmer talked over the Fox News host’s attempt to speak.

“I’nm saying that the oath that we took to defend the Constitution, I take seriously,” Helmer insisted. “This president doesn’t. And one of the reasons that I’m excited to be here on a show that I know that the president watches every morning is to make sure we deliver a message that change is coming, that no one, not even our president, is above the law.”

‘He can’t keep the lies straight’: Former FBI special agent breaks down Trump’s pathological deceptions on CNN

President Donald Trump’s penchant for publicly lying about matters with wide-reaching legal implications has not been missed by CNN’s Asha Rangappa, a former FBI special agent who now teaches at Yale’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs.

In the aftermath of Trump’s claim that he can pardon himself issued in a tweet earlier on Monday, Rangappa blasted the president’s attorney and former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani’s latest argument against meeting with special counsel Robert Mueller.

“Basically, Mr. Giuliani is saying that he doesn’t want the president to sit for an interview because neither the president nor his lawyers can keep the lies straight,” the former FBI agent said. “And they’re not going to be able to settle on one story.”

“We’ve seen this over and over again,” Rangappa told host Poppy Harlow, mentioning the administration’s changing stories on the infamous Trump Tower meeting.

“In the Stormy Daniels case, he claimed he knew nothing about the payments there,” she continued, “now Rudy Giuliani has admitted he did.”

“They can’t keep the lies straight,” Rangappa concluded.

‘Holy f*ckballs’: Internet stunned by Trump’s ‘insane’ boast that he can pardon himself for anything

President Donald Trump on Monday morning asserted that he can pardon himself if he’s ever indicted — and despite all of his antics, Twitter was shocked.

“As has been stated by numerous legal scholars, I have the absolute right to PARDON myself, but why would I do that when I have done nothing wrong?” the president tweeted.

“This is where we are,” radio host Mike Signorile tweeted. “It’s called dictatorship. Do not forget it.”

Trump melted down during ‘terrible’ call with French president: ‘He can’t handle being criticized’

Donald Trump and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron reportedly had a “terrible” conversation last week in the wake of the American president’s decision to impose steel tariffs that will affect Europe.

Two sources that spoke to CNN said President Macron incorrectly believed he would be able to “candidly” criticize Trump due to the relative closeness of their working relationship.

“Just bad. It was terrible,” one of the sources told CNN. “Macron thought he would be able to speak his mind, based on the relationship. But Trump can’t handle being criticized like that.”

In a statement ahead of the Thursday call, CNN noted, the French president called Trump’s decision to impose the tariffs “illegal” and a “mistake.”

“I prefer to say things directly and not through the press,” Macron told assembled reporters at the Elysee Palace. “And I will tell him what I told you, which are my convictions that he knows already.”

Melania Trump will skip Trump event ‘honoring America’ that is being boycotted by Eagles players

Melania doesn't think showing up for another "Donald Is Stoopendus" Party is going to be much fun.

Whiny White House staffers claim the Philadelphia Eagles were trying to ‘humiliate’ Trump

Meanwhile, Congress tries to DO SOMETHING POSITIVE!

US lawmakers set bill seeking to control Trump on tariffs: key lawmaker

A group of Republican and Democratic U.S. senators plan to introduce as soon as Tuesday legislation that would force President Donald Trump, or any U.S. president, to obtain congressional approval before imposing tariffs on national security grounds, a senior senator said on Tuesday.

Republican Senator Bob Corker, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, told reporters legislation would be introduced on Tuesday or Wednesday that would pare back the president’s authority under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.

The measure came after Trump decided last month to open a trade investigation into whether auto imports had damaged the U.S. auto industry, which could lead to tariffs of up to 25 percent on “national security grounds.”

Watch smirking Pompeo blow off Giuliani comments on North Korea: He doesn’t ‘speak for administration’

CNN’s Phil Mudd pummels ‘clown’ Giuliani for sticking his nose in North Korea negotiations

United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke about the Singapore June 12 summit during the White House press briefing. When asked if Giuliani spoke on the behalf of the administration, Pompeo brushed off the question and said “no.”

In response, Mudd said Giuliani has gotten ahead of himself, and called him a “clown” for inserting himself into North Korea negotiations.

“You have this clown Giuliani, who is not even known by most North Koreans. I don’t think so. There’s another piece to be aware of. The president is right to say if we don’t get a deal we can walk away. [However] you cannot walk away every time North Korea thumbs their noses at you. The president’s temperament of walking away won’t work.”

Only the best people? And a few Clowns, because this is a circus.:)

CNN North Korea expert says Trump used ‘trigger word’ at press conference that will infuriate both Koreas

During a CNN panel with anchor Wolf Blitzer, Balbina Hwang, a professor from Georgetown University, said their conversation ignited a ‘trigger word’ that some viewers would not be happy about.

Hwang said President Trump used the trigger phrase “Sea of Japan,” and said the term would not sit well with the people of Korea.

“He referred to the Sea of Japan. That’s a trigger word. If you have spoken to North Korea officials as I have, and many of you have as well, for them, World War II with Japan has never really ended. They still have a long memory of what Japan did in Korea during World War II, it is very sensitive,” Hwang said.

Of course Trump is the Head Clown!:D

Trump warns he’s winging it in nuclear negotiations with North Korea: ‘It’s about attitude

President Donald Trump on Thursday admitted that he’s not doing much to prepare for highly complex nuclear disarmament negotiations with North Korea.

When asked by a reporter what he’s doing to prepare for the meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, which is set to take place in Singapore on June 12, Trump brushed off the importance of preparation.

“I think I’m very well prepared,” he said. “I don’t think I have to prepare very much. It’s about attitude.”

I did mention DJ was the Chief Clown, didn't I?

Trump sinks in scandals as new poll reveals more Americans want to turn Congress blue

The NBC News “poll shows that Democrats enjoy a 10-point advantage on congressional preference, with 50 percent of registered voters wanting a Democratic-controlled Congress, versus 40 percent who want a GOP-controlled one.”

That 10-point difference is up three points from April, and it’s despite the improving economy.

And it’s looking bad for Trump-supporting Republican politicians.

“By a whopping 25-point margin, voters say they’re more likely to back a congressional candidate who promises to serve as a check on President Donald Trump.”

The poll also finds that “a majority — 53 percent — say they’re less likely to vote for a candidate who supports the president on most issues.”

Perhaps one of the greatest indicators is enthusiasm, and Democrats are beating Republicans hands down.

“Democrats are more enthusiastic about the upcoming midterms, with 63 percent of them registering either a ‘9’ or ’10’ on a 10-point scale of interest, while just 47 percent of Republicans signal the same level of enthusiasm.”

Despite this, the poll finds for the first time in many months, Trump’s approval rating has actually improved. He now sits with 44% approval, up 4 points from April.

Can Democrats take back the House and Senate? Only if they vote.

Never misunderestimate the ability of Democrats to fuck something up, like thy did in '16, by ignoring the Senate because Hillary needed all the money.

Unfortunately true. Also unfortunate that Dums haven't built grassroots campaigns, and local and state takeovers, as Gups have done, often financed by reactionary billionaires. Dums lack the killer instinct.

Trump will have ‘the same fate as Nixon’ writes MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough in Washington Post editorial

MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough said President Donald Trump’s “unchecked authority” could lead him to Nixon-like ending in an op-ed for the Washington Post.

Scarborough said no matter what President Trump has convinced himself of that “no man is above the law.”

“But that twisted interpretation of presidential authority is dead wrong. Even in President Trump’s America, no man is above the law,” Scarborough wrote.

He then asserted that if President Trump continues following his lawyer Rudy Giuliani’s advice it would lead to his downfall.

“It may come as little relief to those unsettled by the commander in chief’s autocratic impulses that this president will likely face the same fate as Nixon if he acts upon his lawyers’ ignorant legal opinions,” he wrote. “But perhaps take comfort from Meacham’s insight in “The Soul of America” that to know what has come before is to be armed against despair.”

If Rethuglicans had spines, they'd impeach his ass tomorrow and let Pence run wild! They have the Tax Cuts and have the Agencies throttled, so Pence coud just "More of the Same" for the next two years and the Rethugs could find some one less odious for 2020.

Aides trick Trump into reading with a ‘book’ that’s basically just photos of cable news chyrons

"See Kimmy blow up the world! Bad Kimmy, BAD!"
Trump just watches the cartoons.:)

According to Allen, White House staffers compile a briefing binder for the president every day that is internally known as “The Book.” However, the book is not filled with detailed reports and policy analyses — in fact, the aides who compile the book often avoid using complete sentences all together.

“The more effective approach with Trump is to use simple, short bullets, or a graphic or timeline — anything demonstrative,” Allen writes. “The packet can even include screen grabs of cable news chyrons.”

Trump aides explain that giving the president short soundbites is the only way to get him to pay attention, as otherwise he will get all his information through Fox News.

In particular, they say that former national security adviser H.R. McMaster used to test Trump’s patience by giving detailed presentations about complex national security issues.

“He used complete sentences!” complained one staffer.
Oh that bastard!
