The article suggests that part of the reason that slutwear is becoming unfashionable with women is exactly that: because it's being worn inappropriately by all these teenage girls, it's becoming unfashionable.

Not to sound vain or anything, but I'm attractive enough without 'flashing' my bod every chance I get.

That always happens- styles 'trickle down' and when they atart to catch on with the 4-10 set, they start looking 'cute' instead of cool.

I remember when teen agers would wear pony-tailes on top of their heads. Then after a while younger and younger kids would copy it. Eventually, it was adorable on your two year old cousin, but nothing you'd be caught dead doing to your own hair!
