I could not sleep.
The twentyness crept up to me in bed, while I lay there.
It snarled at me, it grinned and bared it crooked teeth, a snarks mouth of rows upon rows. It licked its chops and said, "I am your twenty." I shivered in my bed, my twenty was upon me, I could not escape.
It looked at me through one eye - the only eye it had (well, technically. twenty doesn't have an 'i') - the eye was white, pale like a blind fishes. It said, "I am your twenty."
And it was right.
And I was scared.
It made a fist, and pointed a jagged talon at me. "Twenty!"
I jumped from my bed and ran into the living room. But my twenty was stronger there, behind the sliding glass of the balcony dawn lightened the world. The air was thick with fog and wet, birds chattered, and I stood before the open doors and stepped out into the world. And it was alive, and fresh, and my cat was bumping my ankle because she wanted a pet.. and it felt so good.
And then I was twenty

Remember, it's 5:13am now and I haven't slept, don't expect lucidity.
