Zero. Never bothered to look at the feature. But now that you mention it, there are 2 members that make me cringe every time I see their av. Thanks for the tip, I'm gonna give it a try.

I know though that if I did feel the need to ignore someone I would still have to peep at their posts (which is what I've done in the past). It's too easy to do .. you don't even have to take them off ignore.

It's still a great function though and I like the way you use it with such discipline, mrron.

When it comes to trolls I don't think putting them on ignore is always necessary either... just don't react to them!!!

Sorry Lorelei. I can't see what you wrote so I can't reply. KIDDING!! I would never put you on ignore. I agree, usually just not reacting is sufficient and I do that lots too. Generally I like people and its only the ones who stupidly attack me or are so consistently annoying that it spoils my lit experience that have to be dealt with so drastically.

Since you were so nice I'll just add what I was going to say in my earlier post but didn't want you to think I was changing the subject of the thread and put me on ignore for THAT! (By the way I AM about to change the subject....)

I just wondered if anyone has found any kind of use for the buddy list function here... it just seems kind of pointless .....

I know what you're saying. One in particular for me is consistently stupid in what he says. I often thought woudln't it be nice if he just wasn't here. Well now, in my world he's not. Try it, you'll love it.

The other one that bugs me will jump in with an over-the-top crude comment when everyone else is being pleasant and thoughtful. Come to think of it, the thread ops who actually respond favorably to those comments are the ones whos threads I don't subscribe to

I have 2 people on ignore here...I've never felt the need to before, but it's the best thing I ever did. It's a GREAT feature! Such a relief not having to see them, lol...

Quite close! It's the only thing that lets me come back and browse Lit freely... I regret that I didn't remember to use it long ago. Too bad not all sites have the same feature, but it does work very well here.

I have quite a few people on ignore, because I roam a lot of forums. It's my choice to roam around, and roam around in peace. Most of the people on the list I found in the GB.

But please don't abandon threads where the owner does respond to the trolly types. Sometimes a bit of subtle humour works even better than ignoring people

Not feeding the trolls is the best option...I think. Personally, I don't have an ignore list. I would have to care to ignore them. ;~)

Do have a buddy list though. It's small but there.

Lol...none really. I just use it to keep up with people I think are special. You know, in case I loose touch and want to catch up, can't remember a screen name...that sort of thing.

And as I said, it's a very small list.

But someone has to accept you as a buddy don't they? So it's kind of like saying 'I want you to be my buddy ... because I might forget who you are!'

You make a great point. Sometimes a thread owner will reply just to be a good host, and that is appreciated by most. And BTW, you are an outstanding host. I will make a point to drop in and leave a note more often

I hope you didn't take my comment too literally. There are just a couple of cases where I thought a thread was a good one, but was turned off by the owner seriously playing in to the crap comments...kind of bringing out their true colors I guess. That's fine, it's their thread, but just not my cuppa You know what they say...there's an ass for every seat.

And yep. I spent too may years practicing better living through chemistry in the 60s and 70s. There is the very real possibility that I might forget your handle. Well, maybe not yours, I've see your amazing pics, but some peoples.

The thing is, I get really busy from time to time and don't get to visit Lit for a few weeks or months at a time. Sac religious I know, but it's handy for seeing who I know is on line and catching up.

And yes, I agree that its annoying when thread ops encourage the losers by responding to them. The best response is still usually no response.

I'm not sure - I haven't checked lately. The few times I've put someone on ignore, it's because he is being a pest. Typically I take him out of the penalty box a few weeks or months later.
