Israel pushing ahead with its effort to deport tens of thousands of illegal African migrants:

Israel has initiated the first stage of a controversial “emergency plan” aimed at interning and deporting an estimated 60,000 African immigrants. Officials believe the presence of the Africans poses a threat to the “Jewish character” of the state.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who believes immigrants are swamping his country, has claimed the African migrants “are seen by many Israelis as a law and order issue and even a threat to the long-term viability of the Jewish state.”

Dunno what the big fuss is. Seems to be on par with the immigration policy of most countries in the mediterranean/European region... at least for countries that people want to move to. Political and humanitarian refugees gets a fast track while economic migrants gets the boot. More strict in right wing countries, less strict in left wing, not extremely shocking in either.

Want a story to get pissed at? Sweden's immigration authority recently refused to let a team of Syrian kids into the country for a youth soccer tournament for fear they might deflect. It's two dozen 12 year olds. There's a war on. Fucking let them.
