It's a little bit funny how this whole system updates.

My newest story has been viewed 0 times, but 6 of those 0 people have voted on it already.

I wish I could've pulled that one off back in Algebra class. :D

Views reporting is anopther of those Midnight maintenance events. ;) Theyonly update once a day.

votes vs. reads?

Yeah, I had the exact same problem. 5 votes and 0 views. Does anyone know why this discrepancy occurs?

From the post right above yours:

I figured it was something like that, I just thought it was funny.

I found it interesting the other day when a story had 0 reads, then an hour later had 12, then about 20 minutes later had around 911.

Those last 899 people sure were synchronized, cause they did it on two seperate days with two seperate stories. :D

Especially when you're dealing with two databases. I'm pretty sure that a standard page-view counter is used to count the views and then that database is read and the data imported to the site's database.

It's a time consuming process to read all the page-view counters and update the site so that's why it's only done one a day. If you got twodifferent readings on one day, youprobably hit it in the process of updating or the update ran out of cycle for some reason.
