5755 download and only 52 votes?

Hey, that's better than average, don't get upset. Most of the time votes total less than 1% of all views. It's not downloads, it's views. That means anytime anyone clicks open the webpage, it's counted. Even if it's the same person just clicking back and forth into the story. These are not unique views.

The truth of the matter is that people just don't vote.

KK,

As KM said, it's typical. About 1/2 to 2 percent of views, for votes. And, if you're lucky, of all who vote maybe around 1% will give other substantive written feedback, somewhat dependent on category. So, 10,000 views, 100 votes, and 1 or two written feedbacks, is not unusual.

Indulge a fragile technically challenged ego just for a moment please...How do you find the stats on your stories? Although I've only posted one How To story so far I've got to say it feels great to get feedback email. If a story moves me I always try to write a few lines to the author to let them know,of course I'm hoping they'll keep writing stories I love to read.
Happy Holidays!:)

Go to the same Author's Panel where you submitted your story. Instead of pressing "submit" under submissions, press "view." You can scroll through your posted stuff that way.

You might have to press the submissions link first.

Many thanks to Killermuffin for the advice, all done, ego indulged! Is it politically correct for me to say Killermuffin that your bikini photo is just gorgeous...very distracting but gorgeous!

Of course it's politically correct. That particular picture was created to make people notice and hopefully purchase the .45 she has clutched in her dainty fist. That is not, however, my ass. I live in the United States where purchasing a Tanfoglio is illegal. So, admire away.

Have to agree with fellow aussie, both the cossie and the gun are illegal. I must be out of the loop, because I didn't know you could accessorise guns with your outfit. I love hot pink, but do they come in red?

I did the maths, and only 4% of viewers voted, but of those 30% left feedback (so thanks to those who took the time to drop a line). Cheers, aussie chick

That is quite remarkable. ... unless it's just wishful thinking.

Of the 30% how many were a single line, like "Emjoyed your story" or "I came so hard" ?

I would appeal to Killer Muffin for info, here. Does your written email or PM feedback come from 30% of those who vote (if and when they are/were allowed to)?

wishfulthinking

Probably just wishful thinking! I meant 0.4%, which seems the norm.

When I say 30% left feedback, I meant that as a percentage of those who voted, no overall views figure.

As it is my first story (my 2nd and 3rd are still pending - for over a week now!), I really don't know how it will stands up against my other stories. My second story when it finally gets up, might not get any feedback. So far, I've got 22 feedbacks, and 4 of these were anonymous. I loved receiving them. A couple were one liners, however, no "I came so hard"'s. Now I am disappointed.

Outside the box (outside lit.com box)

I've never gotten any of those, "WOW, I came so hard" comments, except from those people that read my stuff outside of lit.com.

But the replies I usually get are more of a critiquing nature (which I greatly appreciate) with most of them saying similar things. That being how to improve my stories based on their opinions.

Does anyone here send their stories to individuals outside lit.com?
I've got over 300 personal email addys of peeps who I email my stories too. I was just curious if others did the same.

Viewers and Votes

More than 1% of the viewers voting? I would consider that to be terrific. Usually only about about .1% of the viewers vote on my stories. I like to think they get themselves off before they are even close to finishing the story, and feel they didn't read enough to vote. Most of what little feedback I get is something like "WOW, that was really hot!" variety, which is fine with me although I would like something a little more constructive.

Damn...I'm crushed...:p

About the ass that is....

so far i've only been recieving positive feedback on my new story, which is lovely and very flattering, but i would appreciate some constructive criticism. Perhaps we should start a thread of... "i'll scratch your back if you scratch mine", where all who post read each other's stories, vote accordingly and offer heartfelt, well-thought out feedback.
I'd be happy and willing to do that for any and all who were willing to read my tales, and i can't be the only one who feels that way.

Stupid about numbers

I obviously have too much time on my hands, but I've figured this...

I have 4 stories on lit.com...

1st story has gotten 44 votes with an average score of 4.55..
that means that 24 of the 44 voters gave it a 5 while the other 20 voters gave it a 4

2nd story has gotten 55 votes scoring 4.60 .. meaning that 33 of the 55 gave it a 5 while the remaining 22 gave it a 4

3rd story has gotten 50 votes at 4.60 average which equates to 30 with a 5 and 20 with a 4

and finally, story no.4 (new story) has 10 votes at 4.70 which means 3 people gave it a 4, while the rest rated it 5...

(of course I could be Way off as it's possible that someone voted them with a 3 or less, which makes all the above obsolete.)

LOL....
