What Fresh Hell?: We’ve got your stupid memo right here edition

https://www.rawstory.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/nunestrump-300x161.jpg

When it dropped on Friday, we all had a good laugh at the degree to which the memo undercut the Republican Scandal Machine’s narrative that the dossier on Trump prepared by former British spook Christopher Steele sparked the probe into Trump’s people running around to all these secret meetings with Russian operatives. The memo confirms previous reporting by The New York Times that it was George Papadopoulos blathering on about how the campaign was trying to get dirt on Clinton from the Russians to an Australian ambassador that launched the investigation. And then we found out that Nunes hadn’t even read the FISA applications on which he based his silly memo, which makes sense because reading the “intelligence” that supported his conspiracy theory would have required a colonoscopy.

:D

The Democrats need to step up their PR game.

This Nunes Memo is so easily refuted, yet they send out people like Dick Durbin and Chris Himes who cannot fucking speak without giving a whole speech and boring you to death. They need younger, sharper people who are laser-focused on getting the right sound bites and points out. They need to HAND them a sheet anticipating the b.s. arguments and have quick, pithy responses ready to go. But no, we get Dick Durbin droning out a ten minute explanation.

The opposition to Trumpism needs to learn how to dumb down the message. His bullet point style of talking resonates with Americans who's brains are still trying to catch up to the age of technology and mass communication.

"I'm not a member of any organized political party.
I'm a Democrat."
--Will Rogers, Cherokee

Dums have managed to give away zillions of state gov't seats. They focus on national issues, not local. They ignore Tip O'Neill's truism: All Politics Is Local.

Gups are actively disastrous; Dums are disastrous by default and sloth. They let Wee Willie triangulate the party into corporate ownership. I recall an old ROLLING STONE headline on the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band hastily canceled tour: BONZO DOG RUNS, FUCKS ITSELF. That's where the Dums are.

Dums are handed gifts on a platter. Hey, it's frisbee time!

They need to hire Donnie Deutsch or some other image makeover company. It's nothing but PR.

I have no gripes with Dems except in how they campaign and message, where they are hopeless. It's so obvious they need new blood. Kick the same old farts off camera!!! Chuck Schumer is a bloody fool. Pelosi is smarter, but every time she talks her dentures are about to fly out of her mouth for f's sake.

If they can't wipe the floor with Devin Dum Dum they are beyond hopeless.

A former Trump economic adviser is now predicting financial doom: ‘This thing is going to implode

Icahn, a billionaire investor, called in to CNBC to talk about Monday’s massive drop in the Dow-Jones Industrial Average. While he thought that Monday’s crash was a mere blip, he did say that many institutions are over-leveraged right now just as they were right before the great financial crash of 2008.

“You have way too many derivatives,” Icahn said, referring to financial instruments whose value is backed by underlying assets such as mortgages, currencies or commodities. “It is not really a place for the average person to be playing around in derivatives.”

Icahn said that while he expects the stock market to recover its losses, he thinks that this week’s crash was the “beginnings of an earthquake” that would lead to a bigger crash down the road.

“I think eventually, you get through this little panic thing, but one day, this thing is going to implode because you have too much leverage with too many people buying these things,” he said. “And Wall Street sells them these products, and it’s extremely dangerous.”

"W" made it thru over five years before he blew up the economy. Don's going to set another record!

House Intel threatens Bannon with contempt if he uses White House orders to avoid testifying

Steve Bannon remains under subpoena by the House Intelligence Committee, despite White House efforts to keep him from testifying before lawmakers.

The panel’s ranking Democrat, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), issued a statement Tuesday saying the committee still expected to question the former White House chief strategist, who has agreed to be interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller.

“Testifying before the Special Counsel does not obviate Mr. Bannon’s obligations under the subpoena issued by the Committee,” Schiff said.

Schiff said the panel would consider holding Bannon in contempt of Congress if he followed White House orders against testifying beyond a pre-approved set of 14 yes-or-no questions.

‘This is your excuse?’ Maxine Waters body slams Steve Mnuchin for failing to implement Russian sanctions

For his part, Mnuchin claimed that “the sections you’re referring to has been delegated to the State Department.”

“Who is responsible for delegating what was passed by an overwhelming majority of this House to the State Department?” Waters asked.

“The president,” Mnuchin answered.

“So the president decided that despite the fact that in the law that we passed, it delegated responsibility to Treasury, that he decided that he wanted it to be delegated to the State Department rather than Treasury,” Waters said. “And this is your excuse for not having implemented the law, is that correct?”

“No, it’s not my excuse,” Mnuchin replied. “The president had the authority to delegate within that as he chose fit.”

“But the final conclusion is that nothing has been done!” Waters charged. “There has been no waiver, there has been no delay, there has not been anything that has been done. You did not waive or delay sanctions. That is the conclusion.”

Obstructing Justice is one thing but obstruction of the LAW is quite another.
:) 'Oh Bob... Here's another thread to pull.'

Don't expect any satisfaction until and unless Dums take the House in the midterms. Tromp breaks laws even after Congress and courts act. Pity.

Trump says market going down is a “big mistake.” Oh really? Explain why, Don.

Anybody else notice how fast we went from fearing ISIS crossing our borders to fearing MS-13 crossing our borders? Gotta keep the fearing high.

George W. Bush reveals ‘clear evidence’ Russia meddled in 2016 election

How will Mitch respond?

Former President George W. Bush this week said there was “pretty clear evidence” that Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election.

USA Today reports that Bush made his comments about Russian interference at a conference being held in the United Arab Emirates this week that was sponsored by the Milken Institute think tank.

While Bush said he didn’t know whether Russian meddling actually affected the outcome of the election, he was still troubled by the damage that such meddling can do to American democracy.

“It’s problematic that a foreign nation is involved in our election system,” he said. “Our democracy is only as good as people trust the results.”

Oh, he would know about fixing elections Wouldn't he? :D

He won't care. We also just got news that voter rolls were successfully breached and "opened" in a few states. Not a peep from Repubs. We have Rex Tillerson shrugging his shoulders saying, "Eh, what can ya do?" They DON'T CARE.

We should be making a transition to paper ballots NOW.

Trump simply refuses to enact the Russian Sanctions Bill. They DO NOTHING.

Bannon and Lewandowski don't feel like responding to a Congressional subpoena. Eh, what can ya do.

Trump calls Dems "treasonous" for not clapping for him--thereby making an equation between the President and the STATE. He thinks he is the government and the United States rolled into one. If you object to him, you're objecting to the country itself, which is, autocracy. Aside from Flakey Flake, the Rs let it slide. Eh, democracy, what are ya gonna do.

If disrespecting POTUS is treason, then all Gups who dissed President of the United States of America Barrack Hussein Obama of Hawai'i should be hauled off and shot, right? Tromp, as a Birther, was one of those. He has just sentenced himself to death. Order Big Macs for his last meal.

What about "mishandling classified material." They're still ready to string HIllary up for that. Rob Porter? No security clearance, been handling all the Prez's Intelligence for a year. But but e-mails!

Some scary news I heard tonight--the Dems are saying they can't get ANY investigations or oversight going. We know the House Intel Committee is lost, but apparently everything else is, too. They have no plans whatsoever to investigate any malfeasance coming from this White House.

The scandals and lapses and crimes are just piling up. They aren't remotely interested.

‘There’s no where to get the money from!’ Stephanie Ruhle hilariously smacks down Trump’s infrastructure plan

MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle thoroughly debunked the viability President Donald Trump’s infrastructure package, during an appearance with Katy Tur on Friday to discuss the brief overnight government shutdown.

“It is Republicans that never wanted do this and to your point, we’ve already added $1 trillion $2 trillion to our debt because of those corporate tax cuts,” Ruhle noted.

“There’s no where to get the money from. Gary Cohn has told the president, ‘el presidente, no dinero aqui,'” Ruhle explained.

“To say we’ll have states pay for it, states can’t run deficits. And if you think it will come from private funding? they want 15 percent returns,” Ruhle continued.

“We’re no longer the safest haven around. Right now, sure, we are the prettiest girl in the ugly class, whatever those phrases are, but things ain’t looking good,” Ruhle concluded.

Sad, our President has no money left to buy his shiny new infrastructure.:(

Trump refuses to release Democrats’ rebuttal to the Nunes memo he declassified last week

President Donald Trump on Friday blocked the release of a classified memo written by congressional Democrats to rebut a Republican document that he allowed to be made public last week that claimed FBI and Justice Department bias against him in the federal probe of Russia and the 2016 U.S. election.

The White House said the Justice Department had identified portions of the memo that “would create especially significant concerns for the national security and law enforcement interests” of the country.

A week earlier, Trump had overruled objections from the Federal Bureau of Investigation about releasing the Republican memo that took aim at senior law enforcement officials.

The House of Representatives Intelligence Committee voted unanimously on Monday to release the 10-page document drafted by the panel’s Democrats, contingent on the Republican president agreeing to reclassify it.

Repugnican Memo Si! Dem Memo NO!

Demented Donald refuses to release the truth? Bring on the Pee Hooker Tapes! :)
