That's how much profit Exxon made last quarter. A new record for quarterly earnings. Ever notice how if there is a hint oil prices are going up they jack the prices up the very next day. Doesn't seem to ever go down as fast it goes up.

The oil supermajor's profits for the whole year are more than twice as large as the $7.6 billion value of 1999 total exports from Pakistan, a country with a population of some 133 million people.

I used to think the world turned on a ball bearing, but now I'm sure it is oil. Every time I go to the pump, I wonder when De Beers will take over the marketing of petroleum products, and hike the prices to Pluto.

It's just another form of carbon.
