I guess I'm a vote whore now. A story of mine was posted last week. It had the little red H for a few days, but now it's gone.

Should I really be concerned over that 1/100th of a point needed to get the H back? My philosiphy has been that I write what I write, and scores didn't matter to me. Now I find myself wanting the score on this one. LOL

If you are happy with your story that is more important than any little red H. I know some people on here have a bajillion of them, but really. We;ve all read bad stories with H's and good stories without them, the H doesn't make the story good.

You know what you wrote and if you think it's good and to be proud of than let me just say damn good job.

It's possible to not be a numbers whore and still have that 4.49 really stick in your crawl.

That red H can feel pretty good, regardless of all the arguments one can make that it isn't deserved, or it's there because of the category, etc.

(Category-wise, it is a lot easier to get an "H" in Romance than in Loving Wives, for example).

So, yeah, Wildcard KY, it can be annoying seeing your story sitting there with a 4.49, knowing that one more vote will put you over the top again.

After all, this isn't really a well-paid gig. Our payoff is in reader's comments and personal gratification. The "H" at the end of the trail is a bit of a bonus, is all.

I want my stories to show better numbers than they do, certainly. I have 2,000 to 6,000 hits on each one- If I had a penny per read, I'd be able to buy myself lunch! But the most votes I have on any story is 17 right now, and- that one got one-bombed because some bitch didn't like my viewpoint of the Rennaisance faire, she thought I was making fun of people like her. Well, mot intentionally, but- yeah, bloody stupid people I hate 'em...


My best offerings are all over 4.80, but one of those has only seven friggin votes- for weeks now. It's the only pay we get here!

RVC'd your story. Lesbian isn't usually something that I get into, but I really liked that story.
