2015 will mark the 30th anniversary of Night Stalker Richard Ramirez' bloody crime spree that filled Californians with panic and fear during that long hot summer. While Ramirez may be gone, his legacy will live on as probably the last and most dramatic such reign of terror across the state. Today, DNA evidence would have identified the Night Stalker much earlier in his spree.

Ramirez, wasn't just a prowler stalking innocent Californians from all walks of life as they slept peacefully in their home's that summer. His biggest legacy is perhaps the colorful theatrics and dark persona of pure evil he cultivated after his arrest. Flashing pentagrams drawn in his hand and periodically shouting "hail Satan" during his trial, he cut a darkly romantic figure in court and was followed around by masses of adoring female groupies, one of whom married him several years later.

This is pretty creepy, my 13,000th post was the one starting the commemorative thread about the Night Stalker. I didn't even realize that at all when I posted it. That is really weird, 13 being a bad number and all.
