Briton nabbed on bigamy charges after meeting of spouses in hospital

Updated: 10:42 a.m. ET Aug. 11, 2005
LONDON - Some people bring flowers, others bring balloons. When Melvyn Reed's three wives showed up to visit him at the hospital, they brought an unexpected curtain call to his years as a double bigamist. . .

Whoops.

I've always thought one, at times, too many.

Ahhh, don't go there.

If a man had done this to me he'd find himself missing his balls.

If he has three wives, well, what else would you take - one wife per - I mean? :D LOL

Hmmm. Now there's a delightful thought.

Let me ponder this a moment.

Nothing cruel or nasty. I'm sure everyone, male or female, straight or gay, has thought the same thing about an SO.

Damn, it's difficult for me to be politically correct.

The suspended sentence and low fine were a hoot -- then he moved bck in with his first wife (the only one he actually attempted to divorce

Still, double bigamy carries a built in punishment -- three mothers-in-law! :p

No, don't worry about being PC.

But you're right.

There are times I'd love my noisy house to be quiet. Times I'd love for there to be no worries, no one to cook for, no laundry to do, no cartoons on the TV, no other person to even have to think about except me.

I'd lay back in a chair, feet up, read a completely worthless novel, eat raw chocolate chip cookie dough and drink Marguaritas hand-delivered to me by some scantily-clad house boy.

I think the minor fine and suspended sentence are awful.

I can't help but feel for the two women who just learned they aren't m arried and the time they have spent and effort they have put into building a marriage were wasted.

Had one of them been me, he would have been begging for a lengthy term in a nice safe jail, cause I'd damn sure be before the magistrates for what i would do to him if I could lay hands upon him.

If he'd had four wives, would he have needed quadruple bypass surgery?
