Between the three donation sites on the internet Americans and the world have donated over 3.3 million dollars to aide in the relief efforts. This is just three internet sites, this does not even include donations made directly to the Red Cross, the Salvation Way and others.

You can find a link to the donation sites here:http://www.google.com/currentevents/

God bless us, we will survive, we will endure, WE WILL BE TRIUMPHANT in this "war".

The SEC has announced that it will pledge 1 million dollars to NYC from its Saturday ticket sales and television fees. There was a question at first as to whether games would be played on Saturday at all. This issue was resolved yesterday, Wednesday the 12th, by a statement from the organization, not sure the name, over college football in the the United States. All of the games nationwide will observe a moment of silence, encourage private donations and have beefed up security.

I mentioned the SEC pledge because it is the conference of my alma mater. I'm not sure about what, if anything, other conferences around the U.S. are doing.

***UPDATE***

The SEC has reversered its decision of yesterday to play games scheduled for this week. It announced today, Thursday the 13th, that all Saturday games will be played at some future date. A spokesperson for the SEC also reaffirmed its pledge of 1 million dollars for assistance in the United State's national tragedy.

I would like to let you all know, that despite what the media is saying, they are expecting the body count alone to be well over 20,000. Moreover, it is believed to be less that 100,000
