There is no safe place for African Americans in this racist country.

Lieutenant Nazario did the right thing by driving to a well lit gas station with cameras....it probably saved his life.

His being a 2nd lieutenant in the military would not have made any difference to these racist police and their militant behavior towards blacks in the USA.

I hope Mr. Nazario wins his lawsuit for violations of his basic Constitutional, civil and State rights....the only way these quasi militaristic racist police departments are going to change is when they need to she'll out millions of dollars in settlements that tax payers will have to cover along with immediate firing of police directly involved, then charges for jail time.

Yeah, I'm about at my limit for this.kind of sickening behavior by cops.

Dude is a fucking LT. and complied with the officers as best he could. Those two idiot cops screaming differing orders and pointing loaded weapons at an innocent man.

Turns out the lying cop called it in as a felony stop, which it wasn't. It's not a felony to have a legal temp license plate in the window.

Yah, I didn’t get that one once the cops got up to him. Guy was afraid to move his hand out of sight to unbuckle his belt or open the door...cop might’ve shot him the frame of mind those idiot were in.

I could be wrong, but I think that refers to not having a plate at all...was kind of hard to see in the darkened window.

Still not a felony stop.

Penalties for not displaying L plates

You could face a fine and/or up to 6 penalty points for failing to display L plates correctly on the vehicle you're learning to drive in. A PL10 – 'driving without L plates' offence code can be put on your driving record, for committing this offence.Nov 26, 2020

One of the racist cops was terminated for cause this morning, because today believe it or not was the day the "internal investigation" begun last December was completed. The fact that the "internal investigation" ended two days after the lieutenant's video went viral was strictly coincidental.

Strictly coincidental!

The officer who was fired snarked at the Lieutenant that he could file any complaint he wanted, that he (the cop) would not be impacted at all.

Guess the police officer didn't get the memo that the Trump administration has ended and once again actions have consequences.

It's been a while since I was pulled over (about 15 years, I think), and I'm just wondering when it became a routine thing for police to treat every traffic stop as a potential fight for your life. So the guy supposedly didn't have plates (untrue, as it turned out). What the hell justified treating him that way?

He drove a mile to a well lit area to pull over. That's how the cop justified it in the video.

WTF? Those cops had no cause to do that shit. I hope the Captain gets a bundle from the town

It's a fact that one of the cops has been fired.

Darren Wilson was terminated, too, and he did nothing wrong. Termination proves nothing. The video, however, shows two out of control cops drawing their guns on someone for no reason and being belligerent without cause. Guys like that do not deserve to be behind a badge.

As a LT in the US Army one would think that his training would have lead him to a different decision then not leaving the vehicle when being told to do so by 2 armed men with position behind and to his left flank.

The vehicle provided not cover and he did not appear to have a weapon so he was essentially defenseless to a hostile cop and he had plenty of time to assess his situation.

I am in no way defending the actions of the police, they were wrong in letting the situation escalate the way it did. I am also not blaming the LT for his response, just find it curious.

That Lt. affords you the freedom to say stupid shit like the above.

I don't blame him for not getting out immediately at all. To do that, he'd have to open his door, necessitating a move of one hand below the window and out of sight. The cops would have opened up pn him, saying he was going for a gun, mch like they did with Philando Castile.
