No doubt they sense the jeering crowds on the campaign trail as they try and lie about the good fortune they've brought to their constituents over the last two years. Perhaps they see in their mind's eye the arc of flying tomatoes and eggs, the vertical middle fingers of angry constituents in shuttered neighborhoods far different from their own, on the better side of town. Why not stay home and take the most generous retirement benefits in the US they've so generously given themselves?

There are now 25 House Democrats not seeking reelection in the midterm elections this year.

Rep. Brenda Lawrence, who hails from Michigan, said on Tuesday she will not campaign for another term.

Don't forget many of those are running for the Senate, a gamble they would not take unless polling gave them hope of victory.

Or in this specific case, she got gerrymandered into a district with another incumbent Dem.

Within the Democrat universe polls are created to fit their narrative. It's highly unlikely the doom awaiting the Democrat House will spare Democrats in the Senate. Americans are ready to put a stop to your incessant lies, and out-of-control anti-American renovation of the United States that never had a mandate from the American people.

None of us is going to be surprised if the Pubs pick up seats in the midterms. The party opposed to the sitting president usually does. It would not constitute any "red wave."

In addition to this being a matter of avoiding an incumbent-vs-incumbent race, Lawrence - like most retiring Democrats - represents an area that wouldn't flip to the Republicans if the Democrats actively wanted it to. Her district was 80% for Biden.

And how many Republicans.
Oh right....that would ruin your bullshit

Indeed. The numbers are 12 in the House and 5 in the Senate.

Both parties are seeing record numbers of exits.

Partially because of age and partially because of extremes of partisanship.

Democrats aren't unique

Does that mean their replacements will be more extremely partisan or less?

That would depend on who you and others vote for

I say we vote for left-progressives -- then maybe they can take over the Democratic Party the way the Tea Partiers took over the GOP.

Of course that would only perpetuate the partisan divide in Congress, but there does not appear at this point to be any way out of that anyhow.

Yes, I get that's your approach. I don't align there. Though I do support your efforts 100%

I hope you will agree a left-progressive government would be better for America than anything else. Your hesitance to vote that way appears to be based on a calculation that such a thing is politically impossible, rather than undesirable.

I vote on policy, not on trends.

11 months out from the election and denialism is already setting in. ;)

The Biden administration is in collapse. The lunatic was just addressing the nation with a whole list of fucking lies about the success of his administration which by all accounts is a demonstrable failure. He is a monstrous liar.

Not even close.

The truth:

"You can't love your country only when you win. You can't obey the law only when it's convenient. You can't be patriotic when you embrace and enable lies."

Tell that to Joe.

There was not a dishonest word in his address yesterday.
