2016 Writing Goals Thread

Looking back on my goals, meh results.

To my dismay and frustration, I continue to be stuck with my Circle series. There was a good burst over a few weeks in Spring where I cranked out a few chapters, then hit a wall again and seem stuck. I just can't seem to feel those characters anymore.

I did release several installments of the Milf Tails series and they all did very well here.

I did not write sequels to any of my stories, confirming that I totally lose interest in characters once the ice is broken so to speak.

I did not post a story to interracial, although I did post a story in BDSM that dealt with some racial issues and interracial sex, still not the same.

I did crack the top ten most favorite author list, I am #4 right now and will probably max out there. The #3 is about a thousand over me, number two is twice that and number one? over 12,500 and counting:eek:

For this year?

I have no lit goals. I have writing goals and will still post stories here, but at this point I feel there's nothing left I'm going to do here. I've won contests, I'm high up on the fav list, I am on some top lists, there's not much else. The last thing I wanted was to have a story that went over a thousand favorites and that happened this year with That's What Friends are for.

So nothing on lit, writing in general? I will hold to the idea I can still catch the Circle series somehow and write more of it. I am already beginning the sequel to my Abigail novella I posted in the Halloween contest, but the content won't play well here so it won't be posted here.

Aside from that, trying to keep pace with two new e-books a month which I managed this year.

Hmm, well my first goal is, as always, to live forever. So far so good on that one.

Writing goals? I want to get to 10 submissions this year. I'm at 7 so I'm not exactly setting the bar very high.

I really want to write a group scene with 16 people in it. But I want it to be a good scene with well developed characters. I want the reader to "know" each and every one of them. I want each of them to have different kinks and different taboos. And I want the scene to be so hot that it causes the pope's weird little beanie hat to catch on fire when he reads it.

In the last year, I joined Survivor only to egg me on writing and submitting stories. My goal was to submit a story for every contest, which I did. Anything else was icing. I get my cake and eat it too! :nana:

I also wanted to write stories that pleased both me and their readers. I didn't do too badly on that one - one of my stories even made the HoF - kewl!

This coming year, I'd like to add to and improve several of the stories I submitted last year and turn them into e-Books. I dipped my toe in commercial waters - the dipping was OK, but damn the waters are frigid!

Anyway, I'd like to get better, dammit! And I have a sci fi novel in progress, started over a year ago, that I'd like to finish and publish.

I completed my goal of posting two stories, even though I pulled back one of it. A small yay.

This coming year, I want to make a goal of submitting an incest story. Maybe not the complete version, but at least the first two parts. I'll also write the sequel to Harp Un-strung, or at least get around to finishing the goddamn thing.

Also, I'll try and improve my writing, taking notes from what I've learned this year. And maybe, if lady fortune smiles on me, I'll get a story into the Hall of Fame.

So, my goal:
1> Post at least two stories in 2016.
2> Get one of those story into the Hall Of Fame.

I posted 40 stories, or so, in 2015. Many were over 3500 words, long for me.

For 2016 I wanna focus on one noire series, maybe two, add politics to the recipe, and expand character relationships so the feel is more of a soap opera. That, and add some character activities, like boxing, to make them more interesting.

I'm playing with some strange scenarios, one awaiting scrutiny involves a wife sexually involved with a chick with a dick. Her cop hubby catches them, raises hell, and wife shoots him. The hubby's cop partner helps conceal the killing, for sex with the wife. This may make a good soap opera. Alcoholic-whore wife plus sociopath-cop husband who fucks her daughter and friends and grandma.

From 2015:

In 2015, I'd like to rise to 800 stories posted to Lit.

Check. 818

and the #4 position on the all-time production record list.

Check. #3

And I'd like to have at least twenty erotica titles published.

Check. 25

I'd also like Laurel to get over her self-caused snit enough to go back to giving my stories Green Es.

Not a chance

In 2016, I'd like to just keep up keeping up.

Medical issues knocked out any writing goals I had for 2015.

So for 2016, I'm not setting any specific goals. I'll write as much as I can and be happy with that.

In 2016, I want to post at least two stories in Non-Erotic fiction that stand up without any sex. Nothing even erotic.

Here's why. After 40 years of writing non-fiction for magazines, I wanted to try fiction. What I discovered is that erotica is a great way to get your foot in the door. It's like what they say about playing the guitar. It's easy to play, but very difficult to master. I discovered I could write acceptable (by Lit standards) stories that encouraged me to continue writing. I get better and better at it, and I want to write more. A productive feedback loop. I saw the sex and the built in tension of infidelity as a crutch for me.

So no sex/erotic themes for at least two stories in 2016. Some of my LW readers accuse me of already being there. First one is a post apocalyptic story borrowing Cormac McCarthy's world in The Road.

I looked at your story PLUMPER. I'm acquainted with the 7 SEAS lounge on JFK but many of my stories happen along Hillsborough Avenue close to 56th Street. None of the whores I knew would be hired at 7 SEAS. I also had a few clients who worked at the PINK PONY at MLK and DALE MABRY, and occasionally one at MONS VENUS.

Goals

This year, I wanted to find an amateur writing site and begin to try my hand. Having almost finished my first novel here, I will say... Check.

Next year: continue writing, hopefully to generally positive reviews.

Nothing more really; I don't really have the urge to sell anything.

And a good time was had by all!

A commenter on the Plumper Room story said 7 Seas was closed a few years back. The girls weren't quite as big as I portrayed them. When an Odyssey, Mons, Pink Pony or whatever girl put on a few pounds, they could get a job at 7 Seas until they lost 10-15 pounds or whatever they needed to get rehired. A few of the clubs actually let girls work pregnant, but some didn't. (Lap dances only, no dancing) Those went to 7 Seas for as long as they could waddle onstage. I had a good friend in the business in Tampa and he would take me around when I was in town which was 3 or 4 times a year in those days. 7 Seas was layed back and fun.

My turf was MLK north to Suitcase City (USF), I275 - Dale Mabry. Most of my girls were street hookers, lingerie models, and dive dancers. I never went for free pussy, but I paid a few $100 when they were broke.

Greater emphasis on Group Sex, Lesbian, and Anal.

I've done well there in the past contest. There are many readers there, especially in Group Sex.

No goals for 2016. Due to an increased workload, I didn't finish a single story in 2015. I'm just going to try and finish a few that I already started.
