Out of the top 5, I'm throwing out Williams and Lynch because of their complete lack of 1st place votes and weak schedules...

...and prior to last Saturday, I had the top 3 ranked (in order): Winston, Manziel, McCarron.

But, Manziel busted big-time last weekend against LSU and Winston's continuing legal issue(s) very well might take a big bite out of his chances...

...so, right now I've got 'em 1. McCarron, 2. Winston, 3. Manziel.

I like McCarron for the Heisman win, especially if 'bama drills #4 Auburn in the Iron Bowl in a couple of days (keep in mind that Alabama was the 2009 National Champion, Auburn was in 2010, and Alabama has won the last 2 National Championships)...

...and if the Tide remain undefeated through the SEC Championship game (December 7 - two days before Heisman voting ends), I say AJ McCarron QBing Alabama to 3 straight National Championships is definitely Heisman worthy.

Winston was the prohibitive favorite before his rapey-shooty past caught up with him last month. He's damaged goods now, no way he's gonna win.

I think AJ McCarron will win it if Bama beats Auburn as expected on Saturday.

Otherwise, I'll go with Ka'Deem Carey, who has had a monster year.

A reluctant vote this year?

There's probably no doubt now that Florida State QB Jameis Winston is the overwhelming frontrunner to win this season's Heisman - at least talent wise, that is...

With both Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M and AJ McCarron of Alabama fading from the Heisman race due to both of their respective teams' losses yesterday, and with those defeats their seasons being done except for whatever Bowl game they land in, Winston and his #1 Seminoles advance to play #20something Duke for the Atlantic Coast Conference championship next Saturday in Charlotte, NC. If he does win the Heisman, Winston will become only the second Freshman to do so, following Manziel pioneering that feat last season.

It'd probably be almost an unanimous vote for Winston if only football was considered but, unfortunately for all parties concerned, there's criminal trouble lurking around Winston in Tallahassee...

...an accusation of rape was leveled against Winston through the Tallahassee Police Department about 51 weeks ago; the case was investigated and finally filled as inactive in February of this year when the accuser ceased contact with the police and her lawyer informed police that she did not wish the case to move any further at that time - no sexual assault charges against Winston have ever been filed in the case.

So, the case lay dormant...

...until media requests for info about it in early November brought it all back to public light - just about the time Winston was stoutly establishing himself as a Heisman frontrunner (let the conspiracies begin...).

Personally, as a prototypical American liberal revering the uberprinciple of innocent until proven guilty, and with that (either way) being impossible to decide until long after the Heisman is awarded about two weeks from now...

...my vote for the 2013 Heisman Trophy winner goes to Jameis Winston of Florida State University.

And I really can't fathom how official voters can vote any other way without being totally overt in their bias: there is just no way in hades that either McCarron or Manziel should be any competition to Winston.

We shall see...

...btw: Heisman rules state that the Trophy can be taken back from a winner under certain situations, an admission or conviction of sexual assault certainly being among them.

Jameis wins, but if he gets charged soon, McCarron will. Simple as that. Stiffarmtrophy.com is more reliable than ESPN's poll, historically, btw.

Dude:

You need to fully complete training in Laurel's BGF 101 course...

...before even fantasizing of posting in a manly thread like this.

Well, now...

The Florida State Attorney will announce the findings of his investigation into the alleged rape of a woman by Seminole QB and Heisman front runner Jameis Winston tomorrow @ 2:00pm ET.

The Florida State football team is scheduled to board their charter flight to Charlotte tomorrow eve around 7:45pm ET...

...the Seminoles and Duke play Saturday to decide the ACC champion.

If Winston is charged with a felony...

...the word is that FSU's code of conduct mandates him to be immediately suspended from the team until the case is resolved.

Voting for the 2013 Heisman Trophy winner concludes Monday.

900 ballots were submitted - Winston was completely left off 115 of them (ballots call for naming the top 5 finishers in order)...
