Hey all,

As most of you know you've received an invite to rejoin last years league from Makers. He's unable to be commish again this year, so I'm taking over. Hopefully he'll joined us next year and renew his commish duties. I'll fill in temporary this year since this has been a great league with unique scoring. I'm not going to change the scoring too much this year... maybe only a few tweaks here and there. I'm hoping to keep the same spirit of the league that Makers made. So... not too many changes. If you have suggestions for changes, please post them here, or PM me. I'll definitely listen and think about them. Here's the URL and password:

I'm going to hold off on the password until we let all our players from last year get a chance to join, then I'll open it up to newcomers.

As for the draft date... the default is set for Sept 7, at 10:30 PM EST. If that's not good for you, please speak up NOW. We have to move on this ASAP since spots are being gobbled up quick on Yahoo. I know Sept 7 is late so if you want it earlier, please post you preferences... including times of day and weekday vs weekend. I'll do my best to please everyone, just bear in mind that Yahoo has limited times available. Basically everything between 5pm and 9pm EST has been taken for most days between Aug 24th and Sept. 2nd. Just bare that in mind before you make your suggestion.

Just to let everyone know we have a new thread for this years league.

Players from last year, please join up when ya can so we can open it up to new players.

Also, draft set for Sept 7th at 10:30pm EST. Let me know as soon as possible if that's a bad time for you. Bear in mind, draft times are going quick, so if it's bad for you suggest a better time, just keep in mind that time might not be available.

Colt Repeaters (Maker's) and Images Iconoclasts already said they weren't playing this year.

Hopefully the 3 above will be signing up again. If you aren't please let me know soon.

I do have one person (catinthehat123) that already said they would like to join. I'd like to give the three people above a little more time to re-join before I send out invitations (just so we don't end up with odd number of players).

Hey folks,

Well we're at 10 players right now.

As of now, JohnnySavage has said he won't be able to sign up, so that adds to the other two (Image and Makers). I have not yet heard anything from GhettoDawgs (sorry, I'm not sure who that is or what their Lit nickname is). So with a week until the draft, I'm opening it up to new players.


I have one definitely interested. And another has expressed interest. I'm going to go ahead and extend invites to them. That leaves 2 spots open if anyone else is interested. Unfortunately, we'd have to fill both spots since it won't allow us to have and odd number of teams. So if you have a friend, please try get them to join.

Anyone interested in joining a PPR league on Yahoo. It's a pretty decent league. Played in it last year. Went undefeated to playoffs and lost the championship game.

Everything is pretty standard with the exception of it being a PPR (points per reception).


Downside: the draft is TODAY at 6:30PM EST... so like in 2.5 hours. I'd need you to send me your email addy and I'll pass it on to the manager.

Just throwing it out there in case someone is itching to be in another league. lol. We are one person short of being an even 12.

Will be checking here off and on until draft time.

CALLING ALL FANTASY FOOTBALL PLAYERS!!


We need at least one more player for this league. Or 3 players. lol. 3 would be great. Sorry can't go with just 2 players since we can't have an odd number of teams, which is what we have now. So at the minimum, we need at least one more player. It's basically first come first serve. We had one guy show interested, but I haven't heard back from him in a couple of days, so at this point, who ever gets back to me first is guaranteed a spot. After that, you'll have to wait until we have two definite people.

The draft is tomorrow night (Weds, Sept 7th) at 10:30 PM EDT.

Unfortunately, I will be unavailable from about noon until an hour before draft time, I need to get this fixed and the teams locked before noon.

As you can see we have an odd number. So if you know someone that wants in let me know ASAP. islandman has volunteered to step down if we can't find anyone. I'll wait until the last possible minute before I do that... which like I mentioned will be around noon tomorrow. I'm going to lock the league at that time so we don't have any issues come draft time.

I'm also going to be making a couple very small changes to the settings. Nothing that's going to be crazy. If you have any issues with the changes, you can talk to me here, or PM, or on the yahoo league message board.

Roger that. I'd hate to see that happen, but will do if needed. I'm still asking around. Hopefully someone comes thru.




Note to everyone else: There is the potential that we could go past the yahoo imposed time limit of 11:59PM PDT Weds, Sept 7th. Course that would only happen if everyone took the full 1:30 mins to pick each draftee. Which I doubt would ever happen. Worse case we'd miss that window by 19 minutes. I'm not at all worried about this happening. But there's a chance. Basically if there are 40 picks made in less than 45 seconds, we're good to go, even if everyone takes a full minute and a half from there on out. And auto-draft picks are usually made in like 10 seconds. So if there are only 2 people auto-drafting then there won't be an issue.

Only reason I mention this is because if we go over that time limit, we won't be starting until Week 2 of the season. It does say I can set it back to Week 1, but I'm not sure if that means we still get scored in week 1. Anyhoo... we'll cross that bridge if we come to it. If we go past 1am EDT, then I'm gonna be shocked... and will probably start telling people to hurry the fuck up. lmao.

Okie dokey!! I'm psyched now...

Looks like we are set to go. We have our 12th team, the league is locked, and I went ahead and generated the random draft order.

Draft is tonight (Weds, Sept 7th) at 10:30 PM EDT (7:30 PM PDT). Definitely try to pre-rank if you can and also be there at least 15 minutes early.


I think this is the order of the draft (I say think because the only place I found this was under the draft results and it had the teams listed this way, so I assume this is the order, but don't hold me to it):

I'd definitely like to keep the league going next year. Not sure if the old commish wants to take it over again or not. He's definitely welcome. Either way, any comments regarding the scoring or settings are welcome. I'm not sure I'm happy with the scoring. I sorta feel like the RBs were a nonfactor. Any ideas are welcome.

I sorta like the idea of negative points for non-performance, but after this season, I'm wondering. I'm kicking around the idea of points per run. Just like the idea of a PPR league, but just points per run. I wouldn't do a full point per run. Maybe 1/2 pt per run. But something similar. Just to get more points for the RB position. Also, what are peoples thoughts on bringing back 2 RB positions? Or maybe change it to 1 WR, 1RB, 1TE and then 3 W/R/T? Assuming we can sort of equalize all 3 positions point wise.

The whole running back by community is totally screwing with fantasy football.

Also, what are peoples thoughts on the DEF and IDF players. I thought it was a pretty good success this year. Only thing I can think of that was a let down was 2nd and 3rd tier DEF's just sucked. So maybe , we can fix that. but IDP seemed pretty good. Almost equal to a good WR, but very few crazy ass scores.

Anyhoo... let me know what you think. I'm open to ideas for next year. I'd like to try and equalize most of the positions so that everyone has a chance. I know you can't equalize them all. But I don't want someone to feel like their season is over if they dont' have a great WR or RB, or TE, etc.

The other big position I'm wondering about is QB. Last year we had 1/4 for a completion and a negative for an incompletion. I did away with that. Is that something ya'll would like to bring back. to me, that's just more punishing. There are so many problems at qb already. Unfortunately, there is such a gap between the top tier and the 2nd and 3rd tier.

Anyhoo, I'm rambling.
