I've entered my second Survivor Contest. Because this contest is based on quanitity instead of friends voting for friends, this is a contest that not only I can win but also that anyone can win. As most of you know, I placed 2nd last year after writing only 195 stories and 20 poems. I never figured I'd place as high, especially after viewing some of the output of the previous winners and top finishers.
Only, this year is easier for me to write. And this year, there is more competition than there was last year. PrincessErin and KarennaC promise to make this an exciting competition. I'm hoping that more writers will join. Since, it's still only March, I'd love to see more names entered on the list. Please don't reject this contest because I'm entered in it. Would you join if I quit? (Fat chance lol).
I think if we had more competitions like Survivor that gave writers a better chance at winning a prize, we'd have a better site. We'd have more writers and more writers writing stories.
Scouries had a good suggestion about changing the monthly contest to include more writers. Had anyone else made the suggestion, it would have been immediately embraced along with a petition sent to Laurel. Yet, because someone like Scouries who suggests it and then someone like me who seconds it, it is immediately rejected as a bad idea.
Now, I don't read anyone else making suggestions. I've read lots of negative suggestions, such as, "They should abolish all contests."
Yeah, okay, that's a real good suggestion. Maybe, you should just go away if you don't like contests.
I hope some of you can get off your fat asses and embrace the needed change to make this a better site. I know not all of you write. Most of you just read the stories and others prefer to live your life large on the forum pages. Nonetheless, whoever you are, Scouries has his finger on the pulse for the betterment of the site. If you removed your feelings for him and for me for that matter, you would see that.
Okay, I'm opening up the rest of this thread for bashing comments. Let's begin with darksideofinsanity, he's always got something funny to write whenever he sees my name blatantly posted on these pages.
